Five-time NBA World Champion, two-time NBA Defensive Player Of The Year, & one of the contestants on the upcoming CMT’s “Hulk Hogan‘s Celebrity Championship Wrestling,” Dennis Rodman, was the special guest on this past week’s (08/11/08) live edition of Monday Night Mayhem, hosted by The Big Mosh, Blade, & DFL (presented by Sweet Sunshine Sauces: “the official finishing sauce of The Mayhem”) — which can be heard live & in streaming audio every Monday night (at 8PM ET/7PM CT), exclusively on The Monday Night Mayhem Radio Network (www.MondayNightMayhem.com, www.OnlineWorldOfWrestling.com, & www.ITunes.com).

Dennis’ worldwide exclusive interview with The Mayhem, as part of “The Summer of Mayhem 2008,” is now available for FREE in Windows Streaming Media, or via podcast/the MNM On ITunes.

Here are some of the highlights from DDP’s interview on the show, provided by The Mayhem’s host, John “The Big Mosh” Masiulionis:

=================================================================================================================

Dennis thanked The Mayhem Crew for the invitation to the program, telling his fans around the globe that “I’m always good…I’m still here…and that D-Rod, the one, is always alive.”

Blade started off by saying, “Is this the program where he’s going to beat up on Gary Coleman?” Dennis happened to pick a select form to classify Blade (in a joking fashion, of course), and said that he loves talking with people/individuals such as Blade, who are very open & who hold nothing back. Dennis said the upcoming project on CMT is “kinda cool,” and that “celebs come in, do the physical things & kick each other’s ass…out the ass, and he loves it. I’m always good.”

Rodman classifies his good friend & one of the main people behind the new CMT project/series, Hulk Hogan, as “one of the most famous people in the world.” He is “so sorry” for what Hogan is going through right now, and “support Hogan 100%.” He believes that Hogan is doing what it takes to make sure “his kid” (Nick) is fine. Despite it being very difficult for him & his family right now, “Hogan always survives & perseveres.” Dennis also wishes to credit Eric Bischoff for the success of this project: “What else can you say? That guy has done everything for 30 years.” He cannot say anything bad about Hogan, Bischoff, or “The Mouth Of The South” Jimmy Hart, who also had a vital role in the series.

Mosh asked Dennis about competing against some of the other celebrities (such as Danny Bonaduce, Dustin “Screech” Diamond, Todd Bridges, Butterbean, etc). Just like he did in the NBA, Dennis describes his “in it to win it” state of mind. “I don’t give a damn who you are…I don’t care who you are…The only thing I always do…I’m gonna’ win…I’m gonna’ stay on top…Dennis will always be on top…Just like Chicago, Detroit, San Antonio, Detroit, L.A.”

DFL added that the series will see “Nasty Boy” Brian Knobbs, Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, along with former WWE/ECW Champion, Rob Van Dam, as well as former WWE/WCW Champion, Goldberg. Rodman replied that everyone is coming out to “support Hogan” with this series. “That’s the main thing.”

Blade brought up the fact of how Dennis’ friend, former WCW Champion, & The mayhem’s guest this past week, Diamond Dallas Page, told a story on the air how Rodman tried getting him (during their time in World Championship Wrestling) to hop aboard a bus with strippers, at a time when DDP was a married man. Was that true? Dennis’ simply reply: “I live life to the fullest…Everyone knows what I do…I do it very cool. It’s just me baby.”

As many fans know, Dennis spent a brief period of time performing in WCW in the late ’90’s, and does have a competitive advantage over the majority of the other celebrities taking part in “Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling.” Dennis said “It’s very difficult having celebrities doing something they have never done before…I had to challenge myself not to hurt these people…and the one thing I like to do is be physical.” Rodman then took the liberties of comparing this latest reality experience to spending quality time with a woman, and “laying back” to enjoy the ride.

DFL posed a question that many fans of the NBA, as well as wrestling have wanted to know for years: Did Dennis Rodman skip a practice with the Chicago Bulls to attend a “WCW Nitro” program, and the answer was “Yes.” He went there to “support his friend,” Hulk Hogan, and despite this, “he still won championships.” Dennis once again wished to take this time during the interview to let the fans around the world listening to The Mayhem know that Hulk needs our thoughts & prayers, and to especially “pray for his kid” (Nick) during this difficult time. “Please support them.”

Dennis was very open about his comments & takes on the USA Men’s Olympic Basketball Team, competing currently in Beijing, China. Mosh asked Rodman about his thoughts on the “Redeem Team,” and if they have what it takes to win the Gold Medal. “I don’t give a sh*t. I loved the ’92 team…the ’96 team…I loved that. But right now, this is all about Yao Ming. That’s what the want. They got it.” He continued on by saying that “This is all predicated on David Stern (the NBA Commissioner) doing one thing: Taking American player over there, and bringing the European money back over here.”

The rumors have also been circulating about Dennis possible involvement in the upcoming season of NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice” with Donald Trump, a gentleman who is no stranger to stepping into the squared circle himself — bringing WrestleMania IV & V to Atlantic City, NJ, and having a role in the “Hair Vs. Hair” Match at WrestleMania 23 in Detroit, MI. Dennis said that if he is on the show, he “is going to have sex with a lot of beautiful women, and that he “will win that son of a b*tch.” He also added that he might be the only celebrity on television who would “try to have sex with Donald Trump,” who he described as “as cool as hell.” His parting words on this subject: “Hopefully, I’ll be on the show…hopefully, I’ll be there.”

The rest of this Monday Night Mayhem exclusive features Dennis’ uncensored comments & thoughts on Danny Bonaduce (that are worth checking out, especially if your name happens to be Danny Bonaduce), and whether or not he would accept an invitation from Vince McMahon to come to the WWE, based on the success of “Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling.” His answer may surprise you! Could Dennis’ answer be a challenge to the man himself? Is professional wrestling & sports-entertainment’s version of the Kobe/Shaq battle now going to be Dennis Rodman vs. Vince McMahon? This portion of the interview alone is extremely controversial to say the least…Listener discretion is highly advised!

Dennis encourages all of his fans to check out his official website at www.DRodman.com, and to tune in this fall to the CMT Network, for “Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling.”
