On Saturday January 19th Florida Championship Wrestling was at the USA Flea Market 11721 US 19 in Port Richey/Hudson for an afternoon show that was free to the general public.

(1) Tommy Taylor defeated Chris Gray.

These two former tag team partners have been part of some great triple threat matches in recent weeks, so FCW matchmakers decided to give them a shot at each other in singles action. Both men started with some chain wrestling but it was Gray who got control when he hit Taylor with a drop toe hold the bottom turnbuckle. Taylor struggled to escape a body scissor as Gray put the squeeze on. Taylor kipped up to his feet and grabbed both of Gray’s legs, slingshotting him into the buckles. From there it was a forward roll that drove Gray’s body into the mat getting Taylor the win.

(2) Mighty Mikey defeated Mr. Yamamoto.

Mikey has been on a win streak for the last few weeks. Yamamoto was ready to use his martial arts skills. However Mikey was also ready with his skills and went move for move with Yamamoto. Mikey cornered Yamamoto for ten punches as the fans counted along followed by a backdrop for two. Mikey went back to the corner but Yamamoto tripped him, sending Mikey into the buckles out of control. Yamamoto used his wrist tape to choke out Mikey as he told the referee to check on something in the corner. Yamamoto went for the win with a sleeper hold but Mikey got to the ropes causing the break. Yamamoto let the sleeper go hitting a suplex instead for two. He went for a kick to the gut but Mikey caught it and hit a inverted atomic crop and a bulldog. A cross body block got two and Yamamoto ducked a clothesline setting up a swinging neckbreaker. As the referee went to check on Mikey, Yamamoto found some powder in his kimono. But when he went to throw it into Mikey’s eyes it was blown back into his face. Mikey used this chance to get a rollup pinfall victory.

(3) Robert Anthony & Johnny Curtis defeated “Bad Seed” Shawn Osborne & “Carnival Freak from Myrtle Creek” Sinn Bowdee.

Curtis & Anthony had control of the match for several minutes until Osborne kicked Curtis in the back when he got near the ropes and Bowdee took him down to the mat. Osborne & Bowdee used legal and some illegal tactics keeping Curtis isolated from Anthony, who did more harm than good keeping the referee busy. But Curtis got in a kick to Osborne’s gut and he tagged in Anthony who was ready to go. Osborne caught Anthony’s body block but as the referee but Bowdee out of the ring, Curtis hit them with a dropkick which put Anthony on top of Osborne for the pinfall.

(4) In a triple threat match, Kevin Kiley defeated “Greek God” Brandon Groom and “Campus Legend” Brad Allen.

Groom and Allen made a mini-pact to attack Kiley and it worked for a brief moment. But Kiley dumped Groom to the floor and Kiley took Allen to the mat with an armbar. Allen got to his feet to cause a break but he got hit with a shoulder tackle. Groom re-entered the ring and his pact with Allen went away after a side headlock takeover. But Kiley leveled both of them with clotheslines and bodyslams. Allen recovered but his body block was turned into a backbreaker by Groom. Allen fought out of an airplane spin and sent Groom to the floor but he got hit with a top rope bodyblock that got Kiley the win.

(5) In a Diva’s match refereed by Maryse, the Bella Twins (Nicole & Brianna) defeated Nattie Neidhart & Victoria Crawford.

To the shock of everyone checked Neidhart and Crawford for illegal objects and found some interesting things, like a chain and some spray that was probably destined for someone’s eyes. The Twins took the fight to Neidhart & Crawford in their side of the ring until Crawford hit Brianna with a backbreaker. Neidhart was the aggressor for her team, working over Brianna’s back along with her hair which she used to toss Brianna around. But Neidhart missed an elbow and it allowed Nicole to tag in. Nicole hit a bulldog using Crawford as a ramp. But Neidhart fired back with a move of her own which knocked Maryse on her back. The Twins used this chance to pull a switcheroo on Neidhart and when she turned around, she was pinned in a small package.

(6) In a non title match, Steve Lewington defeated the “new” FCW southern Heavyweight champion “Handsome” Heath Miller (w/Ted DiBiase Jr.).

This past Tuesday the Southern Heavyweight champion Mr. DiBiase informed the fans he injured his knee and was going to be substituted in a title defense against Billy Kidman by Miller. Seems this role has gone to Miller’s head with his request of the billing listed above for this show. Miller talked trash with the ringside patrons but Lewington was more interested in wrestling and took the fight to Miller. That was until DiBiase tripped him when he got near the ropes and it allowed Miller to attack from behind. Lewington fought back but Miller took him down with a chinlock and hair in his hands. DiBiase got involved when he could, as he tried to balance himself on his crutches. Lewington and Miller traded forearms to the jaw but Miller raked his eyes. Miller went for a suplex but it was blocked and countered by Lewington who got his second wind. Lewington hit Miller with clotheslines, forearms to the jaw and a double leg spinning hold. But DiBiase got on the apron again bringing Lewington over. But when Miller went to attack from behind, he hit DiBiase instead. And it allowed Lewington to hit another power move for the pinfall. After the match DiBiase was clearly upset at Miller for losing and they argued their way to the locker room.

(7) In six man tag team action, Rycklon, “Puerto Rican Nightmare” Eric Perez & “the Rocket Surgeon” G-Rilla defeated Sheamus, Jake Hager & the 7ft Giant Titan (w/Mosca).

Both teams tipped the scales at over 900 pounds a group, so we were dangerously close to seeing the ring collapse on several occasions. G-Rilla, Perez & Rycklon took turns beating down their opponents until Titan leveled Perez as Sheamus & Hager kept their opponents busy. Titan tagged in and choked Perez with some help from his friends as the referee was distracted several times. Perez was in trouble when Titan locked in a bear hug. G-Rilla & Rycklon shouted words of encouragement to Perez. Titan let the hold go and tossed Perez to a corner but he ran into a boot to the face. Perez used this chance to tag in Rycklon as Titan tagged in Hager. All six men ended up in the ring as the referee tried to restore order. The match ended with Hager being squashed in the middle by all three men.

(8) “Stampede Kid” TJ Wilson defeated “the Natural” Nic Nemeth (w/Big Rob)

Nemeth talked a good game but when Wilson came to ringside, Nemeth hid behind Big Rob’s massive upper body. The referee warned Rob to mind his manners or he would be ejected. Nemeth complained of everything from hair pulls and trunk pulls to Wilson being greased up with lotion. Wilson took the fight to Nemeth with armdrags and suplexes frustrating the Natural one to no end. Wilson actually accused Nemeth pf pulling his hair (Wilson has a small landing strip of hair in front) which seemed to send Nemeth over the mental edge. But thanks to Big Rob’s distraction Nemeth got to his feet and clipped Wilson’s knees out. Nemeth went to work Ric Flair style on the legs, wearing Wilson out with submission holds. But when Nemeth went to sweep out Wilson’s leg he was hit with an enziguri. This allowed Wilson time to recover and get on the attack despite his knee bothering him. Nemeth used a legsweep to get Wilson down and he used an ankle lock but Wilson countered out. When Wilson got to his feet Big Rob was waiting to pounce, but Nemeth ran up from behind Wilson. But when Wilson moved it sent Nemeth crashing into Rob. That sent Rob to the floor and Nemeth on his butt after Wilson hit an inverted blockbuster to win.

(9) Billy Kidman defeated “South City Thriller” Hade Vansen.

Kidman and Vansen have been in wars on opposite teams but this was a chance to face off in singles action. Vansen took pride in insulting fans saying they didn’t match his British heritage. Kidman decided to talk with his wrestling skills and went right after Vansen. But Vansen fought back with some martial arts holds only to have Kidman hit a head scissor. It sent Vansen to the concrete and Kidman followed with a body block from the top. But Kidman went back to the ring first and Vansen snuck up, hitting a Hot Shot. Vansen got back in the ring and went to work on the neck and throat region with a rear chinlock. But Kidman fought to his feet only to be leveled with an elbow to the jaw for two. Vansen kept on the attack with kicks to Kidman’s chest. But when Vansen hit a corner move and went to the ropes, Kidman came out of the corner with a dropkick that took the wind out of both men. Kidman got ot his feet and went after Vansen with clotheslines and a flapjack which got him the hard fought win.
