FIP announces entrants for WILD CARD match at Southern Stampede
FIP officials have released the names of the 6 entrants into the WILD CARD match at Southern Stampede on April 17th, and they are as follows:
Craig Classic (Big Japan Pro Wrestling)
Caleb Konley (FIP)
Ronnie the Red (TWE)
Stigmata (Chikara)
Johnny Vandal (PWF)
Sugar Dunkington (Chikara)
The Wild Card match will open the show on 4/17. It is a one fall match, and the winner of the fall will be entrant #1 into the Southern Stampede and get the opportunity for a shot in the main event for the vacant FIP World Heavyweight Championship. The odds are certainly long for these 6 youngsters, but they are all hungry and want a shot to prove they belong in the big time on top of the cards in FIP.
The luck of the draw
Now that we know that the winner of the WILD CARD match at Southern Stampede will get the unenviable honor of being entrant # 1, the question remains, “What about the rest of the entries?” Those will be decided by a random draw just prior to showtime. Someone will be very lucky and draw #12, but they won’t know until just before the show begins.
Brad Allen thinks that may be the toughest part of it all. “Not knowing when you are going to start may be the most difficult part of this whole deal. I think you have to go in there assuming you are going to be #2 and have to go the distance. If you prepare any other way, you could be in some big trouble when your number comes up if you aren’t ready to go.”
