  3. Germany’s wXw comes to Philadelphia 3/13

Germany’s Westside Xtreme Wrestling next three action packed weeks will be extremely eventful ON TWO CONTINENTS!

First, March 5th-7th, wXw hosts the annual 16 Carat Gold Tournament in Oberhausen, Germany. The 17 participants fighting for the trophy will be: Chris Hero, Claudio Castagnoli, Ares, Erick Stevens, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Kagetora, Munenori Sawa, Daisuke Sekimoto, Yuji Okabayashi, Johnny Kidd, Martin Stone, Paul Tracey, Big van Walter, Adam Polak, Bad Bones and Tommy End. Also scheduled, wXw World Tag champions The Switchblade Conspiracy (Jon Moxley/Sami Callihan) defend their titles against Up in Smoke (Cheech & Cloudy).

Then on Saturday, March 13, wXw travels across the Atlantic Ocean to one of the United States’ most famous wrestling venues – THE ARENA at 7 Ritner ST in Philadelphia, PA, kicking off a day of wrestling action at 2 pm with “The Vision” just before CZW hosts “Walking on Pins and Needles”.

wXw brings six of the best European wrestlers to showcase what Westside Xtreme Wrestling is all about. In a “Pain in the Glass Match”, Drake Younger and Thumbtack Jack continue their rivalry, with one win a piece in a SAW Deathmatch and a No Ropes Barbed Wire match in Germany – who will win the tiebreaking match?

Chris Hero debuted for wXw in 2002, winning The 2007 16 Carat Gold Tournament and the wXw World Heavyweight Title. Hero will face nemesis B-Boy, who recently lost the CZW World Title to Jon Moxley.

Moxley will team with Sami Callihan as The Swithblade Conspiracy, if they still hold the wXw Tag Titles after the 16 Carat Tournament, defend against the American Wolves, Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards, in a first-time ever encounter.

Just signed for March 13 is a match between the two cornerstones of wXw as Steve Douglas faces Bad Bones. While some fans may be unfamiliar with these stars, in Europe these two are Main Event regulars and holding a number of championships. Douglas brought “The German Psycho“ Bad Bones into wXw in 2005. But when their alliance broke after a year and a half, these two wrestled brutal matches throughout Europe. After a 10 month run for a title shot, Bad Bones achieved his dream in January 2009 to win the wXw World Heavyweight Title, defeating Douglas in the process. But this is 2010 and Douglas is the champion again. If Douglas can retain his title against Absolute Andy at 16 Carat Gold, the title will be on the line in Philadelphia against Bad Bones! See two of the best from Germany in the last 15 YEARS!

wXw will also showcase their recent breakout acquisition TJP! TJP is an outstanding technical wrestler who gets his chance to make an impression in not only his Arena debut, but his first wXw appearance!

The last European wrestler for wXw’s “Vision” is the 6’4” Austrian powerhouse Big van Walter. Walter was trained by Tatsuhito Takaiwa and Riki Choshu in the Zero One Dojo and is one of the hardest hitting wrestlers anywhere. In 2008, he teamed with Bad Bones against Kenta Kobashi and Go Shiozaki but lost to Kobashi. But Walter is a changed wrestler, now a part of the viscous Catch Hoolz Faction with the British Kartel and hasn’t lost a match in 11 months.

Also wrestling on the March 13 wXw event will be former wXw World Champion Alex Shelley, wXw Light Heavyweight champion Zac Sabre, and Eddie Kingston!
