Aspiring grapplers ready to rumble and be the next pro wrestling superstar can make championship dreams come true at Independent Wrestling Federation’s training school in Nutley, NJ.

The facility hosts a weekend Open House this Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19, between 1 and 3 pm both days.  IWF recently moved to a bigger location at 75 Franklin Avenue in Nutley, double the size of their previous home in Woodland Park.

The dynamic new IWF Centre is an amazing facility with features such as a new wrestling ring, amateur wrestling and MMA room, offices, dressing rooms, showers, merchandise and concession store, lounge, private party room and more amenities.

Established in 1999, IWF teaches prospects from 20 states and nine countries who compete in bouts across the world.  This year marks the 15th anniversary of the famous school, recognized as the premiere facility by industry professionals and media outlets.

Kevin Knight, an 18-year ring professional, leads classes covering basic holds and submission moves.  So far, 39 of his graduates performed at WWE Raw, SmackDown, NXT and Impact events, with 11 receiving employment.

“Wrestlers excel in the program and receive pro contracts as a result of our first-rate training regimen,” said Knight.  “We trained over 500 students, and this year brings hope that another graduate will make it to WrestleMania.”

WWE Superstar Darren Young, who trained at IWF as Fred Sampson from 2002 to 2008, returned home last week to visit the new facility and speak with current trainees.  WWE-NXT Referee Shawn Bennett, who trained at IWF from 2002 to 2011, also returned home to visit in July and provide advice to the up-and-coming wrestlers.

“Our next beginner class starts training Sunday, November 2 for adults ages 18 and up,” Knight added.  “And our popular Youth Clinics take place November 28-29-30 and December 27-28-29 for teens ages 13 to 17.  The kids always have a blast in the ring!”

IWF also produces events where students showcase skills for family and friends, and hosts birthday parties as kids are treated to pizza and a body-slammin’ show.

Live Events this year have featured WWE Legends Tommy Dreamer, Tito Santana, Marty Jannetty, Honky Tonk Man, Bushwhacker Luke and Dr. Tom Prichard, all of whom performed in bouts with top IWF graduates and students.
