Hello everybody! Before I begin with this column, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Eric Holt, and I am OWW’s newest women’s wrestling columnist. It’s an honor to be working for a site like this, and I’m really looking forward to posting weekly women’s wrestling columns for the site.
Each week, I will be posting a column about who I feel is the M.V.D. of the week. M.V.D. stands for Most Valuable Diva. WWE Divas and TNA Knockouts that take part in matches, promos, etc. will automatically be nominated for M.V.D. of the week. The diva/knockout that’s chosen for M.V.D. of the week will be chosen based on their overall performance. So without further ado, let’s get started with this week’s M.V.D. nominees:
AJ: Although I’m not a big fan of the AJ scandal/affair storyline, AJ did a great job in her segment with Vickie, Cena, and Ziggler. I also loved the encounter she had with Vickie during the Ziggler vs. Cena match.
Vickie Guerrero: Vickie was being Vickie, as always. She played her role well during this week’s segment between her, AJ, Cena, and Ziggler. It was funny to see how scared she got when AJ confronted her during the Cena vs. Ziggler match.
Rosa Mendes: I loved her interaction with Alberto Del Rio. It’s great to see WWE using her, and them teasing her and Alberto Del Rio teaming up is great. I can’t wait to see what happens over the weeks. She’s the feisty damsel in distress, and Alberto Del Rio happened to save her and defend her honor.
Alicia Fox: Despite the fact she lost, she had great offense against Tamina in her match.
Tamina: Tamina picked up a victory over Alicia Fox this week. The promo of her explaining why she attacked AJ and how the divas need to look out for her was much needed so the fans could know her intentions. Her win makes her look strong and puts the division on notice that she’s back.
Emma: Emma made her debut on NXT this week as she faced Audrey Marie in singles action. She may have lost, but what a valiant effort she put up against Audrey.
Audrey Marie: Audrey Marie picked up a win over newcomer Emma. She played the role of a heel during her entrance and match to perfection. She dominated most of the match and gave Emma a taste of what to expect on NXT.
Gail Kim: She may have lost her match against Mickie James, but the former Knockouts Champion put up one hell of a fight. She controlled most of the match, thus giving Mickie a hard time.
Mickie James: Mickie competed in her first singles match since returning from her injury and surgery. Things looked bad for Mickie James during the match, but she made a great comeback and picked up the win. This match gives her momentum heading into her match against Tara for the KO championship at Final Resolution.
