  3. M.V.D. – Week Of 12/16/12

“M.V.D. – Most Valuable Diva” is a weekly column where a WWE Diva or TNA Knockout is named the Most Valuable Diva of the Week based on their overall performance. The divas/knockouts that compete in matches and/or take part in segments automatically get nominated for Most Valuable Diva.

This week’s nominees for M.V.D. are:

Naomi: This past Sunday at TLC, Naomi competed in her first WWE match since NXT Season 3 in a divas battle royal. Naomi and her fellow Funkadactyl partner Cameron worked together during the match, and even pulled off a great double split leg drop. The battle royal ended up coming down to her and Kaitlyn. Thanks to outside interference from Eve, Naomi was able to pick up the win and the chance to face Eve for the Divas Championship later that night. During the Divas Championship match, Naomi shined as she used the perfect combination of dancing and wrestling to dominate the match, shocking Eve in the process. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to win the match, and Eve retained her title. Naomi may have lost the match, but she put on one heck of a performance.

Cameron: Cameron competed in her first WWE match at TLC in a divas battle royal to determine who would face Eve later in the night for the Divas Championship. Her and her fellow Funkadactyl partner Naomi worked well together and pulled off an impressive double split leg drop. Unfortunately, Cameron was the second diva eliminated.

Kaitlyn: Kaitlyn was one of the participants in the TLC divas battle royal to determine who would face Eve later in the night for the Divas Championship. The match came down to her and Naomi, and Kaitlyn was hoping to win the match. After a slap to the face by Eve, Kaitlyn was eliminated. The next night on RAW, Kaitlyn competed in a non-title match against Eve. The match was short, but Kaitlyn showed a lot of anger and aggression during the match as she looked to get revenge on Eve for what she did at TLC. Kaitlyn embarrassed Eve after the match and held her own little photo op, posing on the ground with a knocked out Eve. The next night on Smackdown, Kaitlyn and former Chickbuster member AJ got into a backstage brawl after AJ took offense to Kaitlyn choosing her title match over a “lunatic.” Kaitlyn faced Eve for the Divas Championship, despite the backstage fight she had just gotten into. After a lot of near falls, Eve ended up getting herself disqualified, causing Kaitlyn to win the match, but not the title.

Eve: At TLC, Eve made sure Kaitlyn didn’t win the divas battle royal or get a title shot. So she slapped her in the face, giving Naomi an advantage to eliminate Kaitlyn. Later that night, Eve defended her Divas Championship against Naomi. Eve took Naomi too lightly, and Naomi dominated most of the match. In the end, after Naomi missed a diving crossbody, Eve capitalized and nailed her signature neckbreaker to retain her title. The next night on RAW, Eve suffered a lost against Kaitlyn as karma for what she did to her the previous night. The Divas Champion was embarrassed when Kaitlyn posed for a picture with her while she was knocked out. The next night on Smackdown, Eve defended the Divas Championship against Kaitlyn. After alot of near falls, Eve got herself disqualified, costing herself the match, but at the same time, walking away still the Divas Champion.

AJ: At TLC, AJ did the unthinkable: she cost John Cena his match at TLC. The next night on RAW, AJ and John Cena ironically won a Slammy for “Kiss Of The Year.” When Vickie Guerrero decided to insult AJ, AJ made out with Dolph Ziggler in front of Vickie. AJ and Dolph vs Vickie and John Cena was booked as the main event. During the match, AJ walked out. Towards the end of the match, AJ came walking back out, but this time, she had brought Big E Langston with her, and he took out John Cena. The next ngiht on Smackdown, we see Dolph and AJ together as a couple, and Big E Langston is serving as a bodyguard. On MizTV, AJ explained to everyone that John Cena broke her heart, so she decided to help Dolph break him. She also introduced Big E Langston as her best friend and someone that doesn’t like it when people call her “crazy.” Later in the night, AJ got into a backstage brawl with her former Chickbuster partner Kaitlyn after Kaitlyn decided to choose a title match over AJ aka the “lunatic.” During the main event on Smackdown, Big E Langston once again takes out John Cena. AJ comforts and makes out with Dolph Ziggler.

Vickie Guerrero: Vickie Guerrero presented the Slammy for “Kiss of the Year.” When AJ came out to accept the award, Vickie insulted her. AJ got revenge and made out with Dolph in front of the Managing Supervisor. Later in the night, Dolph and Vickie get into an argument, and Dolph breaks up with her. Vickie competed in a mixed tag match, teaming up with John Cena against AJ and Dolph. Just like AJ, she walked out of the match.

Mickie James: On Championship Thursday, Brooke Hogan gave the Knockouts Championship title shot to Mickie James. Mickie James looked to right her wrongs from Final Resolution, but thanks to Jesse, Mickie James once against lost the match, and Tara retained her title.

Tara: Tara defended her Knockouts Championship against Mickie James during Championship Thursday. When it looked as thought Tara was going to lose her title, her boyfriend Jesse was there to save the day, and Tara retained her championship.

This week’s M.V.D. is…

Naomi!

Women’s wrestling fans alike have been waiting for WWE to have Naomi to compete in a match for a while now, and at TLC, Naomi got to compete in not one, but two matches in the same night. In the divas batte royal, Naomi and Cameron worked well together, but Naomi also showed that she could hold her own in a match, even though Eve helped her when she didn’t even ask for help. In the Divas Championship match, Naomi put on a great performance. Yes, she may not have won the match, but she impressed me and alot of other women wrestling fans with her perfect combination of dancing and wrestling. Hopefully, WWE took notice of her great performance and will have her compete in matches in the near future.

Come back next week to see who will be M.V.D. of the week. Thanks for reading!
