[Book News] It’s been wrestling’s big secret up until now, but Online World of Wrestling had obtained exclusive news that Bruno Lauer, known professionally as Downtown Bruno or Harvey Wippleman (WWF), has published his hilariously entertaining biography, entitled “Wrestling with the Truth” though Scott Teal’s Crowbar Press (www.crowbarpress.com). The book will be launched at this week’s Cauliflower Ally Club reunion but will be available to the public through 1wrestlinglegends.com starting next Friday. I had the honor of being one of the proof readers for this book and I am thrilled to endorse the book and proclaim that Bruno’s story will open your eyes to the world of pro-wrestling and make you laugh out loud. Stay tuned to Online World of Wrestling for more information.

[Question] Does anyone know who the “fans” were on the 5/22 and 5/29 episodes of TNA iMPACT who got their (sweet) asses kicked by TNA Knockout’s champion Amazing Kong? I’m fully aware of this week’s offering, Daffney, as well as the other finalists, Amber O’Neal and Becky Bayless. I also saw Shantelle Taylor raising her hand in the audience. – I’m just wondering who the original two victims were. They MUST have been trained wrestlers to take that kind of punishment. Email me at oww@onlineworldofwrestling.com if you have the answer(s). — ANSWER: Leva Bates (5/22) and Mimi (5/29) were the others who did the recent Impact tapings against Kong. Mimi is a Team 3-D trainee.

[Notes] From April Hunter: “I have spinal injuries from wrestling. Some days I can’t walk, others aren’t as bad. I’ve been in therapy for a year and the bills are REALLLLY adding up. I had insurance, but they dropped me when they found out I was a wrestler, so I’m paying everything out of pocket, which is sucking ass. Someone suggested I might be able to supplement my income doing this. I know I need an updated MRI ($1200.00 and $2000.00) worth of VAX treatments, asap, that I don’t have. And (hard to believe, right?), not a single promoter has offered to do that token “benefit show” so I’m on my own with this.” – Send donations via PayPal to comments@aprilhunter.com

[TNA News] TNA Wrestling is announcing that “Bound For Glory IV” will be held live in Chicago, IL at the Sears Centre Arena in suburban Hoffman Estates, Ill., on Sunday, Oct. 12, starting at 8pm ET / 5pm PT, and will air worldwide exclusively on Pay-Per-View.

[TNA News] A TNA crew worker who was helping to break down TNA’s set fell 20 feet to the ground when some scaffolding collapsed. The incident occurred shortly after the PPV went off the air. Local police and the fire department were called to the scene and the crew worker was rushed to Baptist DeSoto hospital in Southaven, MS, but the injuries he had sustained were too severe and he died shortly afterwards. A second worker lost his thumb when the scaffold collapsed but is expected to recover fully. The two men were standing at opposite ends of the same scaffolding taking down TNA’s lighting from over the entrance stage according to the Southaven Police Department. Neither man worked directly for TNA, they were sub-contractors used by their production staff. TNA has posted the following statement on their website: A tragic accident following TNA’s “Slammiversary” Pay-Per-View event at the Desoto County Civic Center in Southaven, Mississippi, resulted in the death of an employee of a TNA independent production contractor. The accident occurred following the conclusion of the event as technical crews worked to disassemble the TNA set. Currently, TNA is working in cooperation with local authorities to investigate the details surrounding the accident. TNA is deeply saddened by this tragedy. We ask our fans across the world to join us as our thoughts and prayers are with the family in their time of loss.” [http://www.linkedin.com/in/mrterrific]
