WWE Over The Limit takes place on May 22nd, 2011 in Seattle, Washington..

Last Friday on HBO’s Bill Maher/Real Time weekly news/comedy show, the usually funny Maher once again made fun of Linda McMahon running for office saying “And if Howard Stern has endorsed her running for Senate, you know she’s qualified.” Plus he included her in his mock “Goofiest Candidates of 2010” special segment which the “Witch” candidate of course is a shoe-in to win since he’s been releasing the weekly clips of her making a fool of herselt 15 yrs ago on his ABC show Politically Incorrect. Maher closed of course making fun of the worked/fake nature of pro wrestling and showed the tired old clip of Linda kicking Jim Ross in the groan. Linda taking on the insane NY Gov candidate Carl Paladino in the spoof skit. [reported by Dr. Mike Lano]

Kevin Thorn was on “Right After Wrestling” here… EXCERPT: “The guys, who need rehab, need rehab. It’s not because of the business and it’s not because of the pain. It’s because they hate not being under the lights anymore. I don’t know anyone out there who is doing drugs because they are hurting. It’s not because of pain. The pain is the mentality that they can’t do this anymore and they need something to numb them. They get so much joy out of coming out to the lights and the crowd. The greatest thing ever is being under those lights. That’s our drug. And to go from being under those lights in WWE to going in front of American Legion Hall in front of 200 fans, it’s kind of a letdown.”

Hurricane Gregory Helms was on “Right After Wrestling” here…. EXCERPT: “Me and Matt (Hardy) talk on a daily basis. He’s doing really good and he’s in a good spot in his life. He was just ready to go, like myself when I left (WWE), I was just ready to go. I didn’t realize how ready I was to leave until about a month after my release. Back to Matt, he’s in a happier place, he’s got a ton of projects on the shelf, me and him will be doing a ton of stuff together as well..

There is an ESPN.com interview with Batista here..

Gypsy Joe (the oldest active wrestler at the age of 77) is now taking personal appearance and autograph session bookings through Bill Behrens at [email protected] and www.sbibookings.com

NOTES: Gypsy Joe (real name Gilberto “Pepe” Melendez) is considered by many to be one of the legitimately toughest men in pro wrestling history, one of the sports great all time brawlers, and along with men like The Shiek, Terry Funk, Bruiser Brody and Abdullah The Butcher, one of the founding fathers of “hardcore” wrestling and was the first known wrestler to ever jump off a steel cage. A Puerto Rican native, Joe trained with men like Pedro Morales and Carlos Colon on the island where he briefly wrestled before moving stateside. He debuted in the United States at Sunnyside Garden in Long Island, New York in 1963. That started a career that has spanned almost 50 years in which Joe experienced success in numerous regional territories, (Tennessee, Montreal, Kansas City, West Virginia, Kentucky, Dallas), made brief stops in others (Florida, Mid Atlantic, Puerto Rico, Mid South), and became a legendary figure in Japan (IWE, AJPW, W*ING, IWA). Joe who’ll be 77 this December still wrestles occasionally, and is listed in the Guiness Book Of World Records, and was also featured in WWE magazine as the oldest active professional wrestler in the world. Joe’s most recent high profile appearance was in the corner of Necro Butcher and Eddie Kingston at the Ring Of Honor 8th Anniversary Show and he was also mentioned as one of the all time toughest wrestlers on WWE 24/7’s Legend’s Roundtable Series. .
