• Morris Shapiro was a stunt man for an Abbott and Costello movie called “Here Come the Coeds”..
• 1962: The Mighty Atlas served as “counselor” or “advisor” for the team of Don Curtis & Mark Lewin..
• ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~In that role, The Mighty Atlas detested the term of “manager”.
• October 28, 1999: Morris “Mighty Atlas” Shapiro passed away in Arizona..A Letter from Vicky O’Donnell (Morris Shapiro’s grand-daughter): I am one of the grandchildren of Morris Shapiro and just wanted to thank you for acknowledging our Grandfather. Even though he has been gone for quite some time, his memory lives on…… He was a facinating man. He will never be forgotten. Our broad shoulders and body strength will always be a reminder of the family heritage we have thru him.

  I also wanted to let you know that he died peacefully in Henderson, Nevada in an assisted living facility. Although dimensia left him a bit confused in his last few years and severe arthritis left him in a wheel chair, he was pleasant and still interesting to be around. Cauliflower ears and all, his story is forever a part of our lives and we are proud to have called him Grandpa.
