TNA IMPACT 01 15 2009

Location: Orlando, Florida (Universal Studios)
Date: January 15, 2009 (Taped: January 12)

The Main Event Mafia (Sting & Kurt Angle & Scott Steiner & Booker T & Sharmell): The Main Event Mafia came down to the ring, minus Kevin Nash (who was out with a Staph infection), all wearing their ring gear ready for action. Kurt Angle talked about people taking bullets for one another. Angle said he has spoken the truth, and everything the Mafia set out to do they have accomplished. Angle showed a video package featuring the history of the Main Event Mafia. Angle said they were all dressed for war because tonight the war will come to an end! Angle said that for the first time they will have a multiple hit tonight. LAX’s Hernandez showed up and said he was cashing in his title shot tonight!

Hernandez defeated TNA World champion Sting by DQ: Shane Sewell was back on the job as a TNA referee again for this match. After a few minutes, the Main Event Mafia jumped in and destroyed Hernandez until referee Shane Sewell called for the bell! The beating continued until Sewell stepped in and grabbed the Legend’s belt out of Booker T’s hands and knocked him out of the ring! Sewell had this shocked looked on his face, like “crap, I did it again!” Homicide came out and unloaded on the Main Event Mafia, but he was eventually overtaken. The Mafia continued to dismantle LAX. Finally A.J. Styles sprinted down to the ring and went after all four members of the Mafia, but he was overtaken as well. Brother Ray (with a Mo-hawk) returned to TNA with Devon and turned the tide on the Mafia. Team 3-D power-bombed Kurt Angle through a table!

Team 3-D (Brothers Ray & Devon) & A.J. Styles: All throughout the commercial, Brother Ray celebrated with the TNA fans – who chanted “welcome back!” Devon talked about he and Ray winning tag team titles everywhere they went. Devon said that he and Ray wanted to see how they would do as singles wrestlers. Devon challenged Kurt Angle to a match at Against All Odds! Brother Ray said that the Mafia did not get the job done! Ray challenged Sting to a title match at Against All Odds! Ray said if Sting wanted the bull then he was gonna get the horns!

Lauren Brooke & The Beautiful People (Angelina Love & Velvet Sky w/Cute Kip James): The Beautiful People were all giggles about tonight being the night that the fake Sarah Palin makes them apart of her Cabinit. Cute Kip tried to tell the girls that they were being ribbed, but they said Kip was just jealous.

HIGHLIGHT REEL: They showed clips of Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Jarrett at Genesis where Angle beat and bloodied Jarrett before pulverizing his ankle between a folding chair. Mike Tenay & Don West talked about Jarrett’s injuries.

Jeremy Borash & Kurt Angle & Scott Steiner: Kurt Angle was getting his neck checked out by a doctor. Scott Steiner was taking a fit and Angle told everybody (except Steiner) to “get out!”

HIGHLIGHT REEL: They showed clips of the long storyline that has been going on between the Beautiful People (Angelina Love & Velvet Sky) and a fake Gov. Sarah Palin (played by Daffney Unger).

The Beautiful People (Angelina Love & Velvet Sky) & The FAKE Gov. Sarah Palin: The Gov. said that the Beautiful People have passed all her tests and are now fit to be role models. The Gov. handed Angelina & Velvet documents, which they signed without reading. Suddenly Taylor Wilde & Roxxi came out to the stage with big grins on their faces. Taylor said she and Roxxi have been trying to think of a way to get even with the Beautiful People for embarrassing the entire Knockout’s division. Gov. Sarah Palin quiently exited the ring behind Velvet & Angelina. They were both wearing white outfits, so I started to see where this was going. Taylor said the Beautiful People made a mochery out of the Knockout’s division with their fakeness. Taylor said they are NOT Divas, they are the TNA Knockouts! Taylor said once you take away the make-up and the slutty clothes, all that is left are two dumb blondes! Roxxi took over and explained that the “Gov.” was NOT Sarah Palin. Roxxi said punking them was not enough, so it was time for the hoes to get mucked! Suddenly buckets of mud were dropped from the ceiling on top of the Beautiful People! The fake Sarah Palin went up to the stage to celebrate with Taylor & Roxxi! Obviously they made a mess of the ring, so this segment was taped last but edited into this part of the show.

Lauren Brooks & The Kongtourage (Awesome Kong & Raisha Saed & Rhaka Khan & Sojourner Bolt): Sojourner Bolt scolded Lauren for calling her Sojo. Sojourner talked about the “three little pigs” and said they would take them back to the streets.

ROUGH CUTZ: Sonjourner Bolt..

ODB & Taylor Wilde & Roxxi defeated The Kongtourage (Raisha Saeed & Rhaka Khan & Sojourner Bolt): Raisha Saed has some really cool new ring gear.

Jeremy Borash & Kurt Angle & Booker T: Booker T said that TNA belongs to the Mafia. Booker T gave Kurt Angle, who was nursing his neck, a pep talk..

Lethal Consequences (Jay Lethal & Consequences Creed) defeated Matt Morgan & Abyss: Matt Morgan and Abyss were not on the same page throughout the match. Abyss power-bombed Jay Lethal on top of Morgan by mistake and it directly lead to Lethal & Creed scoring the victory! After the match, Abyss and Matt Morgan started to fight and had to be separated by TNA security..

Jeremy Borash & Jim Cornette & Kurt Angle & Scott Steiner & Booker T w/Sharmell: Jim Cornette said that the trainers won’t let Kurt Angle wrestle and he cannot risk a lawsuit. Booker T and Scott Steiner argued over which one of them would replace Angle in the main event. Cornette appointed Steiner and threatened to fine the Mafia if anybody interfered…

Jeremy Borash & Mick Foley: Mick Foley said he was not in a celebratory mood and talked about the pain in his leg but Jeff Jarrett was not as lucky… Foley yelled at the Mafia for playing around with other people’s livelihoods. Foley said he would prevent anybody from the Mafia from getting involved in the main event.

A.J. Styles defeated Scott Steiner: Special Enforcer Mick Foley came out and circled the ring as the TNA fans cheered wildly in his honor. Scott Steiner came out and pointed a lead pipe at Foley, so Foley went and got a steel chair and Steiner backed off. A few minutes into the match, Scott Steiner brought a steel chair into the ring and Foley yelled at referee Earl Hebner to do something. Hebner threatened to disqualify Steiner, who stood there and argued. Steiner lunged at Styles, who moves, and Steiner was sent head-first into the chair! A few minutes later, Earl Hebner got sandwiched and knocked out. Foley checked on Hebner, but Steiner grabbed the lead piped and whacked Foley from behind! Steiner cracked Styles in the head with the pipe and Hebner counted … 1…….2 … and Styles kicked out! Steiner was shocked, but locked Styles in the Steiner Recliner. Styles crawled to the ropes and broke the hold. Steiner pulled Styles back into the middle of the ring and reapplied the Steiner Recliner. Foley put THE SOCK on his hand, but Hebner stopped him from getting into the ring. Petey Williams showed up and hit a Missile Drop-kick into the face of Scott Steiner! Styles made the cover and got the 1-2-3 to win the match! Way to go, Petey!!
