TNA IMPACT 03 22 2010

Location: Orlando, Florida (Universal Studios)
Date: March 22, 2010 (LIVE!)
Commentators: Mike Tenay & Taz

Eric Bischoff + Jeff Jarrett: Eric Bischoff was shown under a spotlight playing an acoustic guitar. Bischoff said he wrote the song called “What You Don’t Know About Me” and he’s a classically trained musician, something most people don’t know about him. He said that’s why he has such a problem with Jeff Jarrett, because he uses his guitar as a “silly prop.” Bischoff said maybe Jeff can play guitar, but he doesn’t think so, so he challenged him to come out and present “Jeff Jarrett Unplugged.” Jarrett cautiously walked out to the ring. Bischoff prodded Jarrett, who said he wouldn’t let Bischoff humiliate him. Bischoff dared him and then “double-dog dared him.” Jarrett grabbed the guitar and wound up. Bischoff winced and begged Jarrett to him at the same time (so he could fire him). Jarrett put the guitar down and walked out of the ring. Bischoff grinned and said he knew Jarrett didn’t have the guts. Bischoff said now Jeff has to go home and tell his little girls that he just didn’t have the stones to do what a man would do. Jarrett re-entered the ring, snuck up behind Bischoff, and smashed the guitar over his head! Bischoff went down. The crowd popped and chanted “TNA! TNA!”

Mick Foley & Jeff Jarrett: Mick Foley congratulated Jeff Jarrett on what he has just done. They laughed over it. Jarrett asked Foley if he has any idea how good that felt.. and Foley said he does (because he got his revenge on Bischoff last week when he shaved his head).

BACK IN THE RING: Eric Bischoff yelled that Jarrett & Foley have crossed the line – my line! Bischoff said he could fire either or both of them for the cost of a FedEx, but he won’t give them the satisfaction. Bischoff said instead he’s going to make it fun for him to get even. Bischoff said Jarrett must wrestle Foley later and the “loser is fired and the winner is my b*tch!”

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT: Mick Foley & Jeff Jarrett both seemed worried and both admitted it is a fight that neither one can win.

The Beautiful People (Velvet Sky & Madison Rayne & Lacey Von Erich) & Daffney defeated Tara & Angelina Love & Taylor Wilde & Sarita: Daffney came out with Tara’s pet spider in a glass box (which she stole at the PPV last night) – making the Beautiful People cringe. Tara ran out before her tag partners even made it to the ring to confront Daffney and begged on her knees to get her spider back. The Beautiful People and Daffney attacked Tara four-on-one. Taylor Wilde, Sarita, and Angelina Love made the save. The match ended when Love planted Daffney, but Velvet Sky surprised Love with a DDT. Velvet posed, but Taylor Wilde came in and gave her a Northern Lights suplex. Lacey entered and power bombed Sarita. Tara surprised Lacey with her Widow’s Peak. Tara crawled over toward her pet tarantula. Daffney came up behind and gave Tara her a Neck breaker for the win.

A.J. Styles + Ric Flair: A.J. Styles was shown on crutches and with one of his arms in a sling (injuries sustained after his match with Abyss). Ric Flair was lowered from a van in his wheelchair screaming for Chelsea..

Hulk Hogan & Abyss + Ric Flair & Chelsea + A.J. Styles & Sting + Pope D’Angelo Dinero: Hulk Hogan & Abyss walked out to the ring and Hogan said the Abyssamanics have set TNA on fire! Hogan said Bischoff was going to learn that this “personal thing really doesn’t work out.” Hogan said it all stops here and vowed to the TNA fans and Dixie Carter that he’s going to get this company back on track by making sure it’s “only business.” Hogan said at Lockdown with Abyss as the captain of Team Hogan, they will face Team Flair. Hogan said it was going to be Flair’s last hurrah. Abyss said the Hogan ring gives him a feeling he can’t explain, but it’s kind of like right before you sneeze. Abyss then bragged about chokeslamming Styles through the middle of the ring. “It’s when I realized I’m not just Abyss, but I’m the six-foot-eight 350-plus pound pissed off Monster Abyss!” Abyss said while he didn’t win the title last night, he won his respect. Abyss said it’s a new day in TNA and at Lockdown he’ll take care of business for the Hulkster. Abyss said he’s coming to get Flair and when he does, he won’t need any more wheelchairs or crutches or bandages, but he’ll need a mortician. Ric Flair’s music played and Chelsea rolled Flair onto the stage. Flair said Lockdown takes place in Flair-country (St. Louis) and he is the cage match specialist. Styles screamed over Abyss trying to cripple him at Destination X. Flair then revealed that the captain of Team Flair will be Sting. The lights went out and when they came back on, Hogan was handcuffed to the ropes. Sting sat on the corner pad and watched with a smile on his face as Styles bashed Abyss with his crutch. Pope D’Angelo Dinero charged out and attacked Styles. Abyss threw Styles toward Hogan, who gave him a big boot. Dinero uncuffed Hogan as the wheelchair bound Flair looked on helplessly from the ramp. Hogan went after Flair on the ramp. Hogan shoved his wheelchair up the stage, then pushed him toward Abyss on the ramp. Abyss knocked him out of the chair with a clothesline. The Pope walked up to Flair and shoved money in his mouth. Think it was twenty dollar bill. Editor’s Note: Good build-up for the two main events at Lockdown.

Christy Hemme & Rob Van Dam & Jeff Hardy & Shannon Moore: Jeff Hardy said they’re going to have fun at someone’s expense tonight. RVD and Moore greeted Christy as they walked by. Christy giggled.

Big Rob Terry defeated Tomko: One minute match. Big Rob got the win after a chokeslam.

VIDEO PACKAGE: Jeff Jarrett & Mick Foley’s history in TNA..

Jeremy Borash & Mick Foley & Jeff Jarrett: Mick Foley said he’s going out on his terms. Jeff Jarrett said they both deserve to be in TNA and stay in TNA. Foley said they owe it to each other to go out there and show the TNA fans exactly how much the company means to them, and that means winning. Jarrett said he was on the outs around TNA for a few months, yet Foley more than anyone put the passion back in him.

Jeff Jarrett defeated Mick Foley: Beer Money Inc (Robert Roode & James Storm) were special guest co-referees doing Eric Bischoff’s dirty work. Midway through the match, Eric Bischoff joined Mike Tenay & Taz on commentary holding an ice pack on his head. Jeff Jarrett picked up the win after he hit the Stroke on Foley onto a steel chair.

POST-MATCH SEGMENT: Jeff Jarrett didn’t celebrate. Mick Foley consoled him and said it was okay because it was fair and square. Jarrett raised Foley’s arms and then offered a handshake. Foley accepted and they hugged. Bischoff mock cried at ringside along with Beer Money. The crowd chanted “Foley, Foley!” as he walked out of the ring. “Good luck in your future endeavours, ya’ tub!” Bischoff gloated. Bischoff then told Beer Money that they should give Jarrett a taste of their medicine. They attacked Jarrett two-on-one until Jeff Hardy & RVD made the save. “What the hell!” shouted Bischoff, as Beer Money fled the scene. RVD & Hardy stood in the center of the ring. RVD introduced Hardy and himself to Bischoff. RVD said they’re just looking to have some fun. RVD said they think they’d have a blast bouncing those two goofballs around the ring tonight. They are announced RVD & Hardy teaming together in the main event tonight.

Mick Foley + Various Others + Bubba The Love Sponge: Mick Foley was shown leaving backstage and a sad group of wrestlers including several TNA Knockouts, Rob Terry, The Pope, Abyss, and a teared up Jeremy Borash were watching saying farewell. Bubba the Love Sponge tried to interview Foley, but he said now wasn’t the time. The crowd booed as soon as Bubba appeared on TV and then chanted, “Fire Bubba!” Bubba made a “don’t let the door hit ya on the way out” type comment, so Foley punched Bubba right in the face and then let out a “Bang! Bang!” before going out the door!

Eric Bischoff + Hulk Hogan: Eric Bischoff walked into Hulk Hogan’s office, sat down, and put his feet up onto the desk. Hogan asked how getting rid of Mick Foley helps TNA. Bischoff said he promised to get rid of some distractions and that’s what he did. Hogan said they should have talked things over with Foley first, because he could have been an asset. Bischoff said maybe he should have been more patient. Hogan said it’s business and personal, like how he had an issue with Sting, but he’s putting that behind him. Hogan said Jarrett was “over with the fans” and “on a roll,” so lay off Jarrett. Bischoff said he can let it go. Bischoff said it was a whole new day. Bischoff asked Hogan if he sent Hardy & RVD out to get involved with Beer Money, but then said “never mind” and walked out.

Christy Hemme & Beer Money Inc (Robert Roode & James Storm): Robert Roode said he’s had time to reflect on what’s most important to Beer Money – and that is putting Beer Money first. Storm said they don’t care about the “stupid people” in the crowd, unlike RVD & Jeff Hardy.

Jeremy Borash & Rob Van Dam & Jeff Hardy: Jeremy Borash interviewed RVD & Hardy. Hardy said he knows a thing or two about tag team wrestling. RVD said he and Hardy know exactly what they’re doing. RVD said they’re going to show everyone in the TNA Universe what makes them special. RVD referred to himself as “Mr. Monday Night.”

VIDEO PACAKAGE: The handicap match last week when Hernandez lost to Beer Money Inc. without Matt Morgan helping his partner from a post match beat down. And then Matt Morgan turning on Hernandez after they successfully defended their titles against Beer Money at Destination X

Matt Morgan vs. Hernandez ended in a No Contest: The TNA World Tag Team champions collided, but the match ended prematurely as Hernandez was knocked out by a Carbon Footprint on a steel post. Morgan tried to lift Hernandez, but he didn’t move, so he jumped in the ring and whispered something into the referees ear. The referee jumped out of the ring and called for help from the back and did the “cross-arm” signal. Terry Taylor and Homicide joined medics at ringside checking on Hernandez. LAX reunion?

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT: Hernandez was being loaded onto an ambulance as Dixie Carter, some agents, and other employees watched. Hulk Hogan asked Ed Ferrara (Yes, Mr. Russo’s booking partner) to call his wife.

RINGSIDE: They went to Mike Tenay & Taz at ringside reacting quietly. Taz said he hoped it’s not as bad as it looked. Tenay said Hernandez has a history of neck injuries. Taz said it could be worse if there was brain trauma. Tenay then threw to a video package on the Kevin Nash turn on Eric Young and rejoining Sean Waltman & Scott Hall and reforming the Wolfpac!

Rob Van Dam & Jeff Hardy defeated Beer Money Inc. (Robert Roode & James Storm): Beer Money isolated Jeff Hardy and worked him over for a few minutes. Hardy made a comeback and then crawled over to hot-tag RVD. RVD went to work on Roode with clotheslines and a superkick. Then he hit a spin wheel kick on Roode in the corner followed by his signature monkey flip and top rope sidekick. Storm broke up the pin attempt by RVD just before three. RVD powerslammed Storm and then hit a split-legged monsault. The ref said Storm wasn’t the legal man. Roode was, and he surprised RVD with a clothesline. Hardy charged into the ring. Beer Money gave him a double suplex, and then followed with a catapult DDT for a near fall by Roode.Hardy surprised Roode with a Twist of Fate. RVD hit Rolling Thunder on Roode. Hardy then hit the Swanton. A second later RVD hit the Frog Splash and scored the pin. Great, and long, match!

POST-MATCH SEGMENT: While Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy were celebrating, Eric Young came down and said TNA management promised him a six man tag match against the Wolfpac next week, and he chose Rob Van Dam & Jeff Hardy to be his two tag partners!
