WWE Monday Night RAW

December 20, 2010 – Austin, Texas
Announcers: Michael Cole & Jerry “The King” Lawler & C.M. Punk + Josh Mathews
[ REVIEWED BY BRAD DYKENS ]

DARK MATCH: “Showtime” Percy Watson defeated Primo Colon..

IN THE RING
Mike “The Miz” Mizanin + John Morrison + King Sheamus + Randy Orton: Alex Riley introduced “and still WWE champion, The Miz!” The Miz bragged about beating Randy Orton in a Tables match at TLC. Suddenly creepy music played and Alex Riley came out dressed as the ghost of Christmas past to show Miz the “error of his ways.” He showed highlights of Miz beating Jerry “The King” Lawler in a TLC match a few weeks ago. Miz said he was proud of what he did, and doesn’t regrete any of his actions in the past. Next Michael Cole came out as the ghost of Christmas present, to say the Miz needs to change. Cole said Miz’s actions at TLC were extremely unacceptable, retaining his championship through nefarious means, and he should be ashamed. Miz said the actions of a true champion are defined by one sentance; “are they still WWE champion after the match?” and YES HE WAS! Miz lifted the belt above his head and told Orton to put that picture on his Christmas card. They put a picture of Angry Miz Girl up on the screen with moving lips as the ghost of Christmas future, saying that the new #1 Contender John Morrison will beat the Miz for the title. Miz said HE IS THE FUTURE! And the face of the WWE. Miz called himself the most must-see champion in WWE history, because I’m the Miz, and I’m AWESOME! John Morrison walked out and called the segment STUPID (even for Miz). Morrison said he was happy for Miz’s success because last night he climbed the ladder and became the number one contender, because that means they are gonna fight for the title. Morrison said he’s beaten Miz in the past, beaten him in the present, and he knows he can beat Miz in the future – and when he does he will become the NEW WWE champion. Morrison unloaded on Alex Riley as Miz escaped (Michael Cole had already sat down on commentary). Sheamus ran down to go after Morrison, while Jerry Lawler stood up and knocked down Alex Riley. Miz & Riley stormed off as an email came in from the Anonymous General Manager (read by Michael Cole, of course). The G.M. said Miz will collide with his ghosts of past, present, and future when Miz teams with Sheamus & Alex Riley against John Morrison, Jerry Lawler, and Randy Orton! Suddenly Orton came out to the stage and knocked out the Miz!

DIVAS #1 CONTENDERS TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Melina Perez defeated Eve Torres and Alicia Fox: Natalya joined in on commentary for the match, but they failed to ask her the obvious question about what was going on with David Hart Smith & Tyson Kidd lately. All they did was talk about how “great” the Divas Tables Match was at TLC. Natalya got up and congratulated Melina after the match, but Melina returned the gesture by slapping Natalya across the face!

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
The Bella Twins + WWE United States champion Daniel Bryan: The Bellas argued over which one of them was getting Daniel Bryan. It sounded like they had a bet going on or something (I may be reading too much into it). Daniel showed up and both Bellas latched onto him as they all walked towards the ring for his match.

NON (WWE UNITED STATES) TITLE MATCH
WWE United States champion Daniel Bryan w/The Bella Twins defeated William Regal: They mentioned that William Regal did have a hand in training Daniel Bryan (before he came to the WWE). Jerry Lawler started gushing about John Cena and an unrelated topic, when C.M. Punk proved why he is my hero and cut him off, telling him they should be talking about the two men in the ring! I would have liked to see the match go to a 1-hour draw, but instead it went to a 5-minute submission victory for Daniel Bryan – which is a HUGE DEAL! After the match, Daniel showed respect for Regal and the Bellas started taking turns kissing him! Bryan looked like he was about to pass out.

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Randy Orton & John Morrison: They talked about their match later, but Randy Orton warned Morrison that if he wins the WWE title he will be coming after him. Morrison said he trusts Orton will be ready too. Orton said that would be Morrison’s first mistake, because he should NEVER trust him.

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Santino Marella & Tamina: Tamina was giving Santino a massage by standing on his back. Santino was moaning and asked “are you sure you know what you’re doing?” and she responded “no?” Maryse came in and talked smack to Tamina while they both stood on Santino’s back.

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Mark Henry & Gail Kim + Vickie Guerrero & Dolph Ziggler: Mark Henry said the air is fresher tonight, and Gail Kim said it was because it was the first time in six months that the Nexus was not on RAW. Vickie Guerrero walked by and said EXCUSE ME! Mark corrected himself, saying the air was not as fresh as he thought it was.

MIXED TAG TEAM MATCH
Santino Marella & Tamina defeated Ted DiBiase Jr. & Maryse Ouellet: “Mixed” tag team match means guys fight the guys and girls fight the girls… no guy vs. girl action tonight! Santino threatened to use the Cobra on Maryse, but she turned it around and made him do it to himself. Maryse celebrated but turned right into a super-kick from Tamina! Tamina followed up with a Superfly Splash from the top rope! Tamina jumped into Santino’s arms to celebrate the victory. They’ve done a great job making Tamini look cute. Santino’s back was hurt so Tamina carried up backstage over her shoulder.

IN THE RING
John Cena + Vickie Guerrero & Dolph Ziggler + Jerry “The King” Lawler: John Cena was in a super good mood and gave a guy a hug in the front row who was wearing a “We Hate Cena” t-shirt. Cena showed footage of him dumping a bunch of steel chairs on Wade Barrett at TLC from several different angles. Cena said all he needs to do is win the Royal Rumble and go on to main event WrestleMania! Vickie Guerrero (w/Dolph Ziggler) interrupted with her horrendous voice “EXCUSE ME!” Vickie said John was not the only one who won a match last night. Cena kept asking Vickie what she wanted, but the crowd kept drowning her out with their booes (this made Cena laugh out loud). Cena kept asking the fans to calm down so Vickie can talk, but they wouldn’t stop. Vickie was forced to talk over the incredibly loud boos. Vickie talked about Dolph Ziggler retaining the Intercontinental title at TLC in a triple threat. Vickie showed a clip of Jerry “The King” Lawler insulting her last week and demanded an apology or Dolph will kick his ass. The King said he couldn’t help it if Vickie was the only Diva in the WWE whose bathtube has stretch marks. Cena cut in and said Vickie is so fat, she wakes up in section. The King asked John if he knew when God said “let there be light” he asked Vickie to step out of the way first. John added “Vickie is so fat, that he baby pictures were taken via sattelite.” Vickie freaked out “stop it!” and Dolph said Vickie was a Saint and she was the most respected Diva in the WWE! Cena continued to make jokes about Dolph & Vickie until an email came in from the Anonymous General Manager (read by Michael Cole). The G.M. booked Dolph Ziggler vs. John Cena right now!

NON (WWE INTERCONTINENTAL) TITLE MATCH
John Cena defeated Dolph Ziggler w/Vickie Guerrero: After a long match, Dolph Ziggler locked in the Sleeper, but Cena got out of it. Cena put on the STF, but Vickie distracted the referee so he didn’t see Dolph tapping out. Cena thought he won, and this allowed Dolph to hit the Zig-Zag! Cena kicked out after two, so the match continued. Dolph took off the protective padding in the corner. The referee tried to put it back on, so Dolph grabbed his belt behind the ref’s back and went after Cena. Cena ducked the belt-shot and hit an Attitude Adjustment for the win! After the match, play-by-play guy C.M. Punk jumped in the ring and bashed Cena with a chair and immediately walked out!

PARKING LOT INTERVIEW
Josh Mathews & C.M. Punk: C.M. Punk said the only thing John Cena understands is aggressive, so tonight he gave him a taste of his own medicine..

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Jerry “The King” Lawler + King Sheamus: King Sheamus made fun of Jerry Lawler’s old battered crown and said unlike Lawler, he actually earned his crown by winning the King of the Ring tournament. Sheamus said there was only room for one King in the WWE. Lawler said they have been calling him the King since 1974. Sheamus said to spare him the history lesson because as far as he’s concerned the King is dead tonight. Sheamus proclaimed “long live the King!”

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero: Vickie said she was embarrassed tonight by John Cena and asked what Dolph was going to do about it? Dolph said he was challenging Cena to a rematch on SmackDown!. Vickie said she can make it happen because she is the official consultant on SmackDown!, so she booked John vs. Dolph and herself in a handicap match!

SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH
Randy Orton & John Morrison & Jerry “The King” Lawler defeated Mike “The Miz” Mizanin & Alex Riley & King Sheamus: Since Jerry Lawler was wrestling, and C.M. Punk left the building, Michael Cole was joined by Josh Mathews on commentary for the main event. The finish saw Miz set up for the Skull Crushing Finale on Jerry Lawler, but Randy Orton jumped in and hit Miz with an RKO! Lawler was able to cover the Miz and score the pinfall for his team! An email came in from the Anonymous General Manager (read by Michael “AND I QUOTE” Cole). The G.M. hyped the LIVE SmackDown!, saying John Cena will face Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero. The G.M. also booked Randy Orton vs. The Miz on SmackDown!. Inside the ring, Orton went after the Miz, but he squirmed out and literally ran away from harm.
