LAST WEEK RECAP: WWE roster walking out on COO Triple H after a vote of NO CONFIDENCE.
KICKOFF: The show started with no announcers to welcome everybody to the show. Cameras showed a vacant backstage area except for COO Triple H. The crowd started chanting TRIP-EL-ECH as he made his way to the arena and his music played.
IN THE RING
COO Triple H + John Cena + Sheamus + C.M. Punk: Triple H came out to a standing ovation saying HE showed up and the FANS showed up (unlike the WWE roster). HHH said 55 some odd employees walked out on the fans last week. HHH said those “Superstars” are outside the building holding a solidarity rally. HHH fake whined saying it looks like RAW has gotten too tough for them. HHH said they are refusing to perform on RAW unless he steps down. HHH asked the fans what he should do, and they didn’t want him to walk away. HHH said he’s never been a quitter. HHH said he won’t be intimidated or blackmailed and he won’t QUIT! HHH said he didn’t care if he had to take off his suit and wrestle a broomstick, adding that the broomstock could wrestle better than most of the guys in the parking lot. HHH promised to give the fans a show tonight! John Cena came out and got booed – saying it was about to get serious. Cena said that the protest outside would be stronger if he was there. Cena said everyone out there has contacted him and asked him to join them. Cena said HHH has not sent him so much as a text message all week long. Cena said he has worked for Vince McMahon, Eric Bischoff, Vickie Guerrero, 56 different celebrity guest hosts, an anonymous person via the computer, and even made it through the Mike Adamle era. Cena said HHH was his boss and he is staying on RAW because he loves the chaos. Cena talked about LOYALTY and proclaimed that he would stay on Monday Night RAW. Sheamus came out next and talked about their feud two years ago. Sheamus said HHH could have taken legal action but he came back like a man and gave him the biggest arse-kicking of his life. Sheamus pointed out that today that result would be different, but wasn’t ashamed to say he has a lot of respect for HHH. Sheamus said he wouldn’t take pack in some parking lot shenanigans. Sheamus said he came here to be part of Monday Night RAW! C.M. Punk came out next and joked that he was probably responsibly for starting this whole thing. Punk said he’s the guy that made walking out look cool. Punk said everyone in the parking lot misunderstood what he was trying to do. Punk said his contract expired and he was trying to prove his point to an entire company. Punk said if anyone has any right to walk out of the WWE it is him. Punk said somebody here doesn’t want him to be WWE champion. Punk said the entire industry lives on men resolving their issues in the wrestling ring. Punk said he thrives on unsafe working environment, adding this is professional wrestling not ballet! Punk said if you believe in something you stand on the front line and fight. Punk said when he had a problem with HHH he dealt with him personally, when he had a problem with Cena he dealth with him personally, and when Sheamus steps on his toes he will deal with him personally too. Punk said he was in the fox hole with HHH tonight. Punk asked HHH what they do now. HHH said he shut up and FIGHT! HHH booked Sheamus vs. John Cena, with himself as the referee, and gave “Mr. Pipe Bomb” C.M. Punk the opportunity to commentate. HHH offered punk ‘double pay’ to be the bell ringer too.
SINGLES MATCH
Sheamus vs. John Cena ended in a No Contest: Triple H was the referee and C.M. Punk was the commentator. A few minutes into the match Vince McMahon interrupted and asked the wrestlers to leave so he could have a conversation with his son in law.
IN THE RING
Vince McMahon & Triple H + John Laurinaitis: Vince McMahon thanked the three wrestlers for standing up for what they believe in. Vince said the people outside are standing up for what they believe in and Triple H is standing up for what HE believes in. Vince said he believes in Triple H and loves the shoot’em up bang bang RAW that HHH produces. Vince said a lot of people don’t like it, including the 55 employees outside the building. Vince said the board of directors met this afternoon as none of them know where these problems are going. Vince said that there could be no WrestleMania is it got out of control. Vince said the board was afraid of a financial contrastrophy and they’re not willing to take that chance. Vince said he felt it was his duty to come to RAW and inform HHH that his services are no longer required here on RAW. Vince said he knows it won’t break HHH’s heart because he didn’t ask for the job in the first place. Vince said nobody from the McMahon family will run Monday Night RAW, because the board is looking for a permanent general manager. Vince said until they find that person they have named an interim general manager….. Executive Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis! John came out to the stage and got horribly boooed. This guy has the chance to be the biggest heel since Vickie Guerrero (end sarcasm).
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
John Laurinaitis + The WWE Roster + John Morrison + Christian: John Laurinaitis welcomed the WWE roster back to RAW as they entered the building. John Morrison had a big problem with the new interim G.M. so he booked him in a match. Christian was happy and looked forward to working for Laurinaitis. John asked Christian to wrestle John Morrison for him and he agreed.
RINGSIDE SEGMENT: John Ross came out to a big pop, followed by Jerry “The King” Lawler, and finally Michael Cole in full heel mode (claiming he led the walk out last week and created positive change).
SINGLES MATCH
Christian (w/Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger & Cody Rhodes) defeated John Morrison: Christian’s buddies caused a lot of distraction and helped Christian pick up the victory. After the match, each heel took a turn hitting Morrison with their finisher.
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
John Laurinaitis + Triple H: John was on the phone talking to his wife asking “how did I do?” Triple H came in seething mad. John said he knows what HHH must be thinking. John said he didn’t want the job, the board appointed him just like they appointed HHH. John said he was as loyal as they come and he’s willing to make sacrifices for the WWE Universe. John said it’s in his blood, and he loves the WWE. HHH asked if John had every tried to pick up his teeth with a bunch of broken fingers.
IN THE RING
World Heavyweight champion Mark Henry: Mark said it’s taken him 15 years to become World champion and he’s already the most dominant one. Mark said he has proven he will take on all comers as long as they are number one contender. Mark showed a video of what he did to the Big Show on SmackDown! (BS issued a challenge and Mark said no… they had a fight and Big Show choke-slammed Mark through the announce table! Theodore Long granted Big Show his title match as long as he stopped his assault!) Mark said he took all that punishment and he’s still standing. Mark said at Vengeance, vengeance will be his! Randy Orton‘s voice came on the sound system said “no, you’re wrong about that Mark, vengeance is MINE!”
NON (WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT) TITLE MATCH
Randy Orton defeated World Heavyweight champion Mark Henry by DQ: Cody Rhodes interfered for the DQ and battled Orton. Orton went for an RKO, but Rhodes pushed him into a World’s Strongest Slam from Mark Henry. Mark then delivered a second World’s Strongest Slam on Orton! Rhodes then jumped in the ring and hit Orton with the Cross Rhodes, then put a paper bag over Orton’s head to humiliate him. Rhodes yelled “cut the head off the viper and all the venon goes with it!”
WWE REWIND: Kelly Kelly going nuts on Beth Phoenix last week.
DIVAS TAG TEAM MATCH
Kelly Kelly & Eve Torres defeated Rosa Mendes & Tamina: Beth Phoenix & Natalya Neidhart were seen watching the match backstage on a monitor. John Laurinaitis walked out after the match to give his first speech as interim general manager.
IN THE RING
Interim General Manager John Laurinaitis: John said the fans may not like him but he has a job to do. John booked WWE champion Alberto Del Rio vs. John Cena at the Vengeance PPV. John asked Jim Ross to join him in the ring. John said last week Jim Ross walked out on the man who gave him his job back. John said Jim Ross walked out on Oklahoma and that makes him an ingrate. John then fired Jim Ross! John bolted with a grin on his face. JR shook hands with The King and walked out with dignity. Michael Cole celebrated and made a fool of himself.
SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH
Mason Ryan & Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne defeated David Otunga & Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger w/Vickie Guerrero:
NON (WWE CHAMPIONSHIP) TITLE MATCH
WWE champion Alberto Del Rio w/Ricardo Rodriguez vs. C.M. Punk ended in a No Contest: The match was interrupted by Interim General Manager John Laurinaitis, who announced that he had rehired The Miz & R-Truth. John changed the match to a tag team match!
TAG TEAM MATCH
Alberto Del Rio & C.M. Punk vs. The Miz & R-Truth ended in a No Contest: Midway through the match, Alberto Del Rio & Ricardo Rodriguez walked out on C.M. Punk. Punk fought valiantly by himself for several minutes before he began to get destroyed. Triple H ran down to help out Punk. The brawl escalated until Miz & Truth retreated.
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT: David Otunga praised John Laurinaitis for his decision making. John said he wanted Triple H to team with C.M. Punk at Vengeance against The Miz & R-Truth!
