September 18, 2009 – Hamilton, Ontario

PARKING LOT: A limo pulled into the arena and General Manager Theodore Long got out surrounded by a team of personal security. Long is obviously fearing some kind of attempt at revenge by the Undertaker..

Batista talked about his RAW contract expiring and getting to choose where he wanted to be – and he chose to be on SmackDown! Batista said it felt good to be back and he couldn’t wait to get started. Chris Jericho interrupted, wearing a suit and a scowl on his face. Jericho welcomed Batista back to SmackDown!, and added that Batista makes him sick – just like the “other injury prone loser,” Edge. Jericho said a lot has changed on SmackDown!, and HE is now the MAN. Batista said to be the man, you got to beat the man (crowd goes Wooo!). Batista said Jericho has a match with him tonight, and then took Jericho down with a Spine-buster!

WWE Intercontinental champion John Morrison defeated Mike Knox: Dolph Ziggler joined Jim Ross & Todd Grisham on commentary for the match.. Before the match, they showed a taped promo of Mike Knox talking about restless leg syndome and that nobody has ever come up with a cure.. .. .. .. After the match, Morrison addressed Ziggler on the mic – and got the crowd to chant “Mr. Ziggles” to get under his skin..

BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW
Josh Mathews & referee Scott Armstrong: Josh Mathews asked Scott Armstrong why he did what he did last Sunday (playing a part in “screwing” the Undertaker). Armstrong explained that if you don’t own the business, you answer to somebody who does. Armstrong said he has a wife and kids, and he was asked to do something that he knows was wrong. Armstrong said he makes no excuses, he just did what he had to do to keep his job.

NON (WWE WOMENS) TITLE MATCH
Melina Perez defeated WWE Women’s champion Michelle McCool:

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Theodore Long + Vince McMahon: Theodore Long paced his office, telling his personal security team to never leave his side. Vince McMahon came in and told the security guys to leave so he could talk to Long. Vince wanted to know where his portrait on the wall was. Vince praised Long for bringing Batista back to SmackDown!, but wanted to know why Long double-crossed the Undertaker. Vince verbally intimidated Long and said he owes the WWE Universe an explanation. Vince sent him to the ring, and said he would be sitting backstage listening to what Long had to say. Vince asked Long if he had any idea what the Undertaker was going to do to him?

IN THE RING
General Manager Theodore Long: The security team surrounded the ring to protect Theodore Long, as he welcomed back Batista to SmackDown! but was greeted mostly with booes from the crowd. Long admitted that what happened at Breaking Point was pre-planned, in order to prevent the Undertaker from becoming World Heavyweight champion. Long said he wasn’t going to say he wasn’t afraid of the Undertaker, because he is, and that’s why he’s surrounded himself with security. Long admitted that there was a conspiracy and added that he wasn’t the only one involved, and pointed the finger at referee Scott Armstrong and World Heavyweight champion C.M. Punk. Long explained that he had a family to take care of, and he couldn’t let them see him standing in the unemployment line. Long apologized for his actions, to the WWE Universe, to the fans, and especially to the Undertaker. Long finished by saying he hoped the Undertaker could find it in his heart to forgive him.. Long was escorted backstage and got back into his limo to leave the arena. Of course, the Undertaker was in the driver’s seat. The Undertaker looked back and said “buckle up, Teddy!” – The doors locked and smoke filled the cabin, as lightning began to flash. The limo drove off with Long kicking and screaming inside!

IN THE RING
World Heavyweight champion C.M. Punk: C.M. Punk said “I told ya so!” and it seems like he’s saying that a lot. Punk bragged about beating Jeff Hardy, and getting rid of him forever. Punk added that he said he would make the Undertaker tap out to the Anaconda Vice, and the fans laughed, but he did just that! Punk said he came out to confront the Undertaker, but he’s conveiniently not there right now! Punk said the fans need someone to look up to. Punk said the fans would do what the Undertaker did and just give up. Punk continued to preach his beliefs, calling himself a prophet, and the only straight edge World Heavyweight champion in history. Punk said if you’re not straight edge, that just means he’s better than you! Punk held up his championship. Jim Ross called Punk the “Second City Saint.

TAG TEAM MATCH
The Hart Dynasty (David Hart Smith & Tyson Kidd w/Natalya Neidhart) defeated Cryme Tyme (Shad Gaspard & JTG w/Eve Torres):

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Melina Perez + Maria Kanellis: Melina Perez walked into the Divas locker room and found pictures of Dolph Ziggler embracing Michelle McCool (Michelle & Layla El tricked Dolph into the position last week and he actually resisted). Melina began ripping down all the pictures off the wall when Maria came in and saw the photo. Maria said Dolph probably had a perfectly logical explanation. Maria asked why Melina couldn’t have just come to her if she had a problem (uhhhh, that’s what he has been doing for weeks!) instead of putting up all the pictures to humiliate her. Doesn’t Maria watch RAW? Melina tried to explain, but Maria said she thought they were friends and walked off..

GRUDGE MATCH
Kane vs. The Great Khali w/Ranjin Singh ended in a No Contest : The Great Khali was knocked unconcious by a chairshot on the floor and Kane literally dragged Khali over to the ring steps. Kane placed Khali’s leg on the bottom level of the ring steps and viciously bashed it with the top level of the ring steps! Kane bashed Khali’s leg over and over as Ranjin Singh screamed for him to stop! This was done to write the Great Khali out of storylines so he could go have knee surgery..

SINGLES MATCH
R-Truth vs. Charlie Haas didn’t even get started: When R-Truth’s music played, Drew McIntyre came out wearing street clothes. McIntyre told the crowd that R-Truth was involved in an accident in the backstage area and unable to compete. McIntyre said that makes Charlie Haas the winner by forfeit. McIntyre offered to shake hands and Haas foolishly accepted. McIntyre turned on Haas and planted him with a stiff DDT!

MAIN EVENT
“The Animal” Batista defeated Chris Jericho with a Batista-bomb: Chris Jericho told the Big Show that he wanted to do it on his own, so the Big Show stayed backstage. After a long match, Batista countered the Code-breaker into a Batista-bomb! They showed the Big Show watching Batista’s celebration backstage on a monitor.

BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW
Josh Mathews & The Big Show: The Big Show said that Batista got lucky this week, adding that if Batista chooses to get in the ring with him next week, the Animal will run out of luck!
