Theodore Long + Edge!: Teddy Long said it was his distinct pleasure to introduce the newest superstar to WWE SmackDown!, Edge! Edge shook Teddy’s hand and went down to the ring for his match.
SINGLES MATCH
Edge defeated Jack Swagger w/Swagger Soaring Eagle: Jack Swagger said he was glad that Edge has been traded back to their show so he can ruin his return to Friday nights just like Edge ruined his return to Oklahoma. Jack said they were flying high and Edge had to embarrass them. Jack said the Swagger Soaring Eagle was friendly and an endangered species because it’s hard for an eagle to get medical insurance. Edge told Jack to get in the ring. Edge told the eagle to get out of there because he had no problem flipping the bird. Jack outwrestled Edge at first until the Swagger Soaring Eagle got on the apron and ended up getting speared by Edge. Back from commercial Edge was in control. Jack started attacking Edge’s arm to take over. Edge managed to make a comeback and hit the DDT for 2. Jack and Edge wrestled back and forth a bit more until Edge reversed the gutwrench powerbomb into the Edge-O-Matic for 2. Edge hit the spear moments later for 3. After the match Edge said he flipped the bird.
DCR GROOMING TIPS: “Dashing” Cody Rhodes taught us about brushing our teeth, an electric toothbrush is best, and don’t swallow the toothpaste.
NON (WWE DIVA’S) TITLE MATCH
WWE Unified Diva’s champion Layla El w/Michelle McCool defeated Kelly Kelly w/Natalya Neidhart: They fought back and forth for several minutes until Layla kicked Kelly in the leg to block the elbow and hit the neckbreaker for 3. After the match Layla tried to kick Natalya but almost got put in the sharpshooter.
IN THE RING
The Big Show + Hornswoggle + Caylen Croft & Trent Barreta: Show said October was a huge month for him. Show said on October 22nd his movie comes out. Show said on October 24th they have Bragging Rights and he’s the team captain. Show said his first decision is to find a way to unify the roster and put past grievances. Show said they need something to rally behind. Show said the mascot for Bragging Rights is Hornswoggle. Hornswoggle came out looking ridiculous. Show said over the next week he’s going to try and find the best superstars. The Dudebusters came out. Show asked what they wanted. They said that they were Show’s guys for team SmackDown! Show said he didn’t know who they were. Show said he appreciated their enthusiasm but he needs some time to review the roster. Trent said if he’s going to be like that then they could just trade to RAW. They took off their shirts revealing RAW shirts. Show said he needed more time so he could make the best team possible. Show chokeslammed them into oblivion at Hornswoggles command.
NON (WWE TAG TEAM) TITLE TAG MATCH
WWE Tag Team champions Drew McIntyre & “Dashing” Cody Rhodes defeated Kaval & Kofi Kingston: Cody and Drew quickly took over on Kofi. Kofi got the hot tag minutes later and Kaval exploded on Cody. Kaval got the dragon sleeper locked in but Drew kicked him in the head. Cody threw Kofi out of the ring and hit the cross Rhodes for 3.
IN THE RING
Paul Bearer + World Heavyweight champion Kane: Paul announced Kane to the ring and said he left Taker a pathetic writhing mess on the canvas as HIAC. Kane said years ago when he was devising his plan he never thought it would be so easy. Kane said he never thought his brother’s pride would make him so week. Kane said Taker may have sent Paul to the darkside but it was him who brought him back. Kane said he is more powerful than Taker could ever imagine. Kane said even more satisfying than beating him was seeing the look on his face when Paul turned his back and handed him the urn. Kane said Taker wasn’t the only one deceived. Kane said everyone watching was deceived. Kane said everyone thought Taker was once again whole and the only thing missing was his inevitable triumph. Kane said with the fall of their idol all of their vicarious visions of grandeur and dreams came crashing down. Kane said they realized that Taker is just like them. Kane said weak, pathetic, and helpless. Kane said just like Taker all of them answer to someone. Kane said the deadman answers to the devils favorite demon. Kane said the legend of Taker allows them to escape reality but since he destroyed that legend they have nothing left other than their miserable lives. Kane said as for Taker, he has been betrayed by those closest to him and has failed all his creatures of the night. Kane said he must feel like he’s in his own corner of hell. Kane said not to worry because they are just warming up.
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH
Dolph Ziggler w/Kaitlyn defeated Montel Vontavious Porter to retain the WWE Intercontinental title: Vickie just stood there staring at Dolph during the match and ended up leaving. After the break Dolph was working on MVP’s neck. MVP fought out of a sleeper and rolled up Dolph for 2. MVP hit Dolph with all kinds of suplexes but wound up walking into a jawbreaker. Kaitlyn came down to the ring after MVP hit Dolph with a big boot. Dolph reversed a suplex into the sleeper but MVP fought out of it. MVP went for Ballin’ but Kaitlyn grabbed his foot and Dolph hit the zigzag for 3.
BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW
Josh Mathews & Alberto Del Rio: Josh asked Alberto if he was concerned. Alberto said Rey’s bark was bigger than his bite. Alberto said Rey is considered a god in Mexico but he’s not Alberto Del Rio. Alberto said he’s going to leave Rey as a pile of dog trash and the only thing he’s concerned about is how he’s going to wipe Rey off of the bottom of his boot.
SINGLES MATCH
Rey Mysterio defeated Alberto Del Rio: Rey attacked Alberto’s arm during the match as a form of payback. Rey was firmly in control until Alberto knocked Rey off the top turnbuckle with an enziguri. Alberto worked on Rey’s arm for a while until Rey hit a sunset flip powerbomb off the top rope for 2. Rey set up Alberto for the 619 but Ricardo distracted Rey long enough for Alberto to get out of it. Rey managed to throw Alberto into Ricardo and hit the 619 for 3 moments later.
