Edge & Randy Orton & John Morrison & Rey Mysterio & John Cena & R-Truth defeated C.M. Punk & King Sheamus & Drew McIntyre & Wade Barrett & Kane & Dolph Ziggler : A really long match that ended with Edge hitting Dolph Ziggler with the spear for 3. After the match, Vickie Guerrero came out and ordered Edge to hand over the championship belt. Vickie showed the video from last week of Edge hitting Dolph with the spear and Super Bowl champion Clay Mathews counting the pin. Vickie said the spear was illegal and that Clay wasn’t a licensed official. Vickie said Edge is no longer the world champion but Dolph Ziggler is. Vickie said tonight there would be a boring championship coronation. Vickie said Edge could watch it from his hotel room because she knows he is the one who assaulted Teddy Long. Vickie said Edge has uncontrollable rage which led to him assaulting Teddy Long. Vickie said she has respect for Teddy Long and fired Edge!
INTERVIEW (EARLIER THIS WEEK)
Todd Grisham & “Dashing” Cody Rhodes: They replayed the video from last month of Rey hitting Cody in the face with a knee brace. Todd said Cody had facial reconstruction surgery. Cody was wearing a creepy mask and sitting in the shadows. Cody said his operation was a success but his opportunities for success have been destroyed. Cody said while Rey is on the road to WrestleMania his road has been stalled before it could get started. Cody said he’s 10 times the professional Rey could ever be. Cody said his doctors have cleared him for travel so next week he has a very important announcement.
DIVAS TAG TEAM MATCH
Layla El & Maryse Ouellet defeated WWE Diva’s champion Eve Torres & Beth Phoenix: Michelle was on commentary with a protective boot due to a foot injury. Michelle distracted Eve, Beth, and the referee – giving Maryse & Layla an opportunity to dual kick Eve for the 3.
CHAMPION VS. CHAMPION MATCH
WWE champion Mike “The Miz” Mizanin w/Alex Riley defeated WWE Intercontinental champion Kofi Kingston: Around the end of the match Kofi was in control but Alberto came down to the ring and distracted him. Alex Riley distracted the ref and Alberto smacked Kofi with his scarf, letting Miz hit skull crushing finale for 3. After the match Alberto Del Rio stood over top of Kofi.
WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov defeated The Corre (Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel w/Ezekiel Jackson & Wade Barrett) by DQ to retain the WWE Tag Team titles: Santino hit the cobra when Wade and Ezekiel came in, causing the DQ. Big Show came down to the ring and threw out Heath, Justin, and Wade. Ezekiel got onto the apron and teased getting in the ring but left.
IN THE RING (CHAMPIONSHIP CORONATION)
Vickie Guerrero & World Heavyweight champion Dolph Ziggler + SmackDown! General Manager Theodore Long: Vickie introduced Dolph as the new champion. Suddenly Teddy Long came out. Teddy said they were acting like they saw a ghost. Teddy asked Vickie if her investigation on who attacked him had led her to a mirror. Teddy said Vickie had the most to gain from his attack. Teddy said Vickie was the first one on the scene. Vickie tried to speak but Teddy told her to shut up. Vickie said it was Dolph and she had nothing to do with it. Teddy said he’s glad to see this all coming out. Teddy said they could forget about this world title coronation. Teddy said they were going to have a world title match right now. Teddy said Vickie had the power to fire people but now he has the power to rehire people. Edge came down to the ring for his match,
WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
Edge defeated Dolph Ziggler w/Vickie Guerrero to become the new World Heavyweight champion: Edge defeated Dolph with the spear quickly to become the new champion. After the match Teddy came out and fired Dolph Ziggler. Edge said tonight has been one long party. Edge said tonight is the 600th episode of SmackDown!. Edge said he was here for the first episode and now he’s here on the 600th with the title back where it belongs. Edge said just a couple hours ago he was fired so he knows how it feels. Edge said it makes a guy want to sing seeing Dolph get fired. Edge said he couldn’t sing very well and confetti started falling from the ceiling. Edge got the fans to sing “hey, hey, hey, goodbye” to Dolph (or whatever that song is called).
