NXT Tag Team Title #1 Contenders Tournament Semi-Final Match: The Jersey Boys (“Big Cass” Colin Cassady & Enzo Amore) vs. The Vaudevillains (“The Artiste” Aiden English & Simon Gotch)

Jersey Boys introduce themselves before the match. Cass says that the NXT Tag Division has never seen G’s like us. You can call me & ‘Zo a lot of things, but one thing that we ain’t is S…A…W…F…T….SAWFT!!!

Cass & English start. English with a side headlock, but Cass blocks a takeover and hits a shoulder tackle. Cass with a knee to the ribs, but English slips out of a slam. Gotch in, but Cass with a big boot to English and a knee to the ribs of Gotch. Cass with a slam and an elbow drop to Gotch for a 1 count. Enzo in, series of gut shots and a right hand to Gotch for a near fall. Enzo rakes Gotch’s face with his boot. Cass in and he throws a charging Enzo into Gotch in the corner. Cass lifts up Gotch, Enzo tags in, but Gotch with a dropkick to Cass that drops Gotch on top of him. Enzo heads up top for a crossbody, but Gotch catches him and lifts him up.

That’s a Wrap by the Vaudevillains for the win.

Winners and advancing to the Finals: The Vaudevillains by pinfall (That’s a Wrap)

The Vaudevillains celebrate their win afterwards, and then the Legionnaires attack the Jersey Boys from behind on the rampway. They knock down Cass, then Marcus Louis holds Enzo while Sylvester LeFort has a pair of clippers and begins shaving off one side of Enzo’s beard. Louis throws Enzo down and the Legionnaires leave while Cass checks on Enzo, who realizes that they have shaved off some of his beard.

Back from commercial, ring announcer JoJo introduces WWE COO Triple H. Triple H makes his way to the ring and grabs a mic. “NXT” chants by the crowd. Triple H says that it is an exciting time in the WWE and NXT has become THE brand on the WWE Network. With that in mind, I think it is time once again for NXT to Takeover. In three weeks on Thursday, September 11th, live right here at Full Sail University in the NXT Arena, NXT will take over the WWE Network with a 2-hour live special unlike anything you have ever seen before. The NXT Title & NXT Women’s Title will be defended and the winners of the current tag team tournament will face the Ascension for the NXT Tag Team Titles. On that night at NXT Takeover, it will be overseen by the brand-new NXT General Manager. That General Manager will be here next week live and in person and for anybody that loves NXT, if you love NXT right now, trust me, when that General Manager gets here, you’ll know that you have seen nothing yet.

We see video from last week’s NXT when Tyson Kidd got involved in the NXT Title match between champion Adrian Neville and Tyler Breeze.

Backstage, Devin Taylor interviews Tyler Breeze. Breeze says he is upset after last week. Wouldn’t you be after you worked so hard to be the #1 Contender and Tyson Kidd decides he wants to ruin your chance to become the most gorgeous champion in NXT history? That doesn’t sit well with me and Tyson Kidd is about to find out why “Prince Pretty” is not just a pretty face.

Grudge Match: Tyson Kidd vs. “Prince Pretty” Tyler Breeze

The two have words with each other as the bell sounds. Breeze with a gut kick, then stomps away at Kidd in the corner. Breeze has words with the ref, but then Kidd with a series of forearms and gut shots to Breeze in the corner. Kidd with a back elbow, a snapmare and a Victim Kick. Snap suplex by Kidd, then holds on to Breeze and hits a swinging neckbreaker. Breeze covers up, but Kidd with a front kick to a doubled over Breeze, followed by a running dropkick to the side of Breeze’s head. Kidd goes for the Sharpshooter, but Breeze slips out to the outside.

Ref begins his 10 count and Breeze yells that he doesn’t need this and walks away, ref counts Breeze out.

Winner: Tyson Kidd by count-out

Kidd celebrates afterward like he won a big match. Kidd then puts on Breeze’s ring jacket and poses on the ropes.

Back from commercial, we go to a promo from Breeze backstage. Breeze asks why the media is making such a big deal of the issues between him & Kidd? Me & Kidd are fine, what I’m focused on is the big announcement next week and the NXT Title. Get away from me, paparazzo.

NXT Women’s Champion “The Dirtiest Diva in the Game” Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch

The two go back and forth, giving each other “Wooo’s” early. Charlotte with an amateur takedown into a front chancery. Lynch blocks a backslide, and then Charlotte misses a clothesline and Lynch with an O’Connor Roll for a 1 count. Lynch works over Charlotte’s leg and hits a forearm. Charlotte counters out with a floatover for a near fall. Charlotte takes down Lynch and locks her in a leglock. Lynch counters out with a pin attempt for a near fall. Crucifix by Lynch for a near fall. Charlotte with a gut kick, but Lynch avoids a charge in the corner and hits a savate kick, using the ropes as a springboard. Charlotte sends Lynch onto the apron, but Lynch with a right hand. Lynch gets back in, but Charlotte kicks her into the corner. Charlotte stomps away at Lynch and chokes her with her boot in the corner. Snapmare into the Figure Four Headlock by Charlotte, crowd wills on Lynch. Lynch bridges backward to counter out and gains a near fall. Charlotte comes back with a clothesline for a 1 count. Crowd chants for Lynch. Charlotte with a back club, but Lynch with an uppercut. Charlotte runs into a back elbow, then Lynch with 2 clotheslines, followed by a dropkick and a leg drop. Another running leg drop by Lynch for a near fall. Charlotte blocks a suplex by Lynch and hits a T-Bone.

Bow Down to the Queen by Charlotte for the win.

Back from commercial, the music of the Jersey Boys’ hits and they make their way onto the rampway. Enzo Amore has a mic and says he is smack talker, skywalker and I got a razor light saber for a French hater. Sylvester LeFort, you better fall back like your hairline. I’m out of my mind and for you to try & find, would be the greatest hide & seek game of all time! I’m putting it on the line, Sly, I’m walking the walk, I’m talking the talk and I’m putting a mohawk against whatever the hell is on your head at NXT Takeover, Hair vs. Hair and if you don’t agree…….Cass grabs the mic and says that if you don’t agree with that, you’re S…A…W…F…T….SAWFT!!!

We see video from last week’s NXT when Bull Dempsey attacked Mojo Rawley after they lost their 1st Round Match in the NXT Tag Team Title #1 Contenders Tournament.

Mojo Rawley vs. Steve Cutler

Mojo drives Cutler into the corner and hits a series of shoulders to the ribs. Cutler misses a right hand and Mojo with a flying shoulder tackle for a near fall. Cutler with a series of right hands and a gut kick. Clothesline by Cutler for a 1 count. Chinlock applied by Cutler. Series of back clubs by Cutler, but Mojo with a gut shot. Mojo sends Cutler hard into the corner.

2 avalanches, Butt-Butt, and then Mojo goes into Hyper-Drive for the win.

Winner: Mojo Rawley by pinfall (Hyper-Drive)

Afterwards, Mojo grabs a mic and says that he stays hyped! But last week, I didn’t keep my head on a swivel and Bull Dempsey lifted me up. But I’m still standing here, Bull and I’ll take everything you got and keep coming for more, because I can’t stop! You think all I am is a smile? Well, this smile is gone and you’re gonna find out exactly what “staying hyped” is about.

Main Event in a NXT Tag Team Title #1 Contenders Tournament Semi-Final Match: Kalisto & Sin Cara vs. Adam Rose & Sami Zayn

Rose & Kalisto start. Rose with a side headlock and a shoulder tackle, then prances around. Rose works over Kalisto’s arm, but Kalisto uses his agility to reverse out. Rose gets free, Zayn & Cara get the tags in. Zayn works over Cara’s arm, but Cara with a side headlock takeover. Zayn counters out with a headscissors, but Cara kips out. Cara takes Zayn down, series of evasions, then Cara with a springboard arm drag that sends Zayn to the outside. Cara & Kalisto with a head of steam and both feign a dive to the outside. Zayn & Rose regroup the crowd chants “Lucha” as we go to commercial.

Back from commercial as Kalisto with a side headlock takeover on Rose. Kalisto slips out of a back suplex, then hits a springboard corkscrew attack on Rose for a near fall. Another side headlock takeover by Kalisto. Crowd wills on Rose. Rose counters out with a back suplex. Zayn in, backbreaker to Kalisto for a near fall. Zayn sends Kalisto into the corner multiple times. Kalisto flips out of a snapmare by Zayn, series of evasions, then Kalisto goes into a handstand and takes Zayn over in a spinning headscissors for a near fall. Cara in, Kalisto with a snapmare, then they do a sandwich kick combo and an assisted wheelbarrow into a back senton on Zayn for a near fall. Zayn sends Cara onto the apron, but Cara with a forearm. Cara heads up top, but Zayn avoids a moonsault, Cara lands on his feet. Zayn charges in, but Cara catches him with a hiptoss for a near fall. Chinlock applied by Cara. Kalisto in, snapmare into a near fall. Kalisto off the ropes, but Zayn catches him with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for a near fall. Rose in, hits a series of mule kicks to Kalisto in the corner. Snapmare by Rose into a chinlock. Crowd wills on Kalisto. Kalisto gets to his feet, but Rose with a back club and a series of forearm drops for a near fall. Rose runs into double boots by Kalisto, but catches him charging in with a spinebuster for a near fall. Rose unloads with right hands from the mount. Kalisto comes back with a kick from underneath and tags in Cara. Cara with a springboard headbutt to Rose and a clothesline. Springboard crossbody by Cara on Rose, followed by a spinning headscissors to Zayn that sends him to the outside. Handspring back elbow by Cara to Rose, but Zayn breaks up the pin. Kalisto with a dropkick to Zayn that sends him to the outside. Cara with a head of steam and wipes out Zayn with a tope suicida! Rose with a big clothesline on Kalisto. Rose off the ropes, but Kalisto kips up and nails Rose with an enziguri. Kalisto hits the Asai DDT on Rose, now known as Solida Del Sol.

Cara heads up top, Falling Star to Rose for the win just as Zayn comes in to break up the pin.

Cara & Kalisto celebrate their win afterwards, leading the crowd in a “Lucha” chant while Zayn checks on Rose as the show closes.
