DARK MATCH: R-Truth defeated Zack Ryder..

Daniel Bryan defeated Ted DiBiase Jr. w/Maryse by submission to retain the WWE United States title: The lights in the building started to flicker during the match. Midway through the match, Daniel Bryan went for a small package and Matt Striker proclaimed “the master of the small package!” (which is a gimmick Bryan used back in Ring of Honor). The finish saw Bryan put away DiBiase with the LeBell Lock. After the match, The Miz came out to the stage and smacked Daniel Bryan with his Money in the Bank briefcase.

Mike “The Miz” Mizanin & Alex Riley: The Miz cut a promo on Miami and teased that he might cash in the Money in the Bank contract tonight! A funny moment happened when the Miz first proclaimed that he had something to say; just then the lights went out for a few seconds.

Josh Mathews & Shaemus: Josh Mathews asked Sheamus what he thought about John Morrison calling him a bully. Sheamus said Morrison was just jealous that he’s a former and future WWE champion and he never will be. Sheamus said if Morrison doesn’t like it, he won’t stick his head in the toilet or stuff him in a locker, but he WILL break his will and his body!

John Morrison defeated “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus: The bully got what was coming to him! John Morrison won in a major upset! The finish saw Sheamus miss with a Brogue Kick and crotch himself on the top rope. Morrison followed up with a springboard kick to the head and a running knee smash for the WIN!

VIGNETTE: Knucklehead starring The Big Show now available on DVD.

John Cena & R-Truth: They talked about the decision John Cena had to make later tonight as the referee of the main event. R-Truth had an idea for him to interfere in the main event and something “accidentally” happens to Randy Orton – and Cena gets to keep his job guilty free. Cena said he wouldn’t be able to look himself in the mirror and made a promised to himself to call it down the middle. R-Truth said he will believe it when he sees it.

Dolph Ziggler w/Vickie Guerrero defeated Kaval to retain the WWE Intercontinental title: Vickie Guerrero introduced Dolph Ziggler “the best Intercontinental champion who happens to be my boyfriend!” Kaitlyn was nowhere to be seen. Dolph Ziggler suffered a bloody nose from a stiff kick from Kaval. It actually looked pretty sick, but the announcers were goofing off and started laughing about it. Kaval was firmly in control, but Ziggler turned the tides with a Zig-Zag (and Kaval kicked out). Kaval made a comeback and almost won a couple close calls. The finish saw Ziggler with a suprise roll-up while pulling Kaval’s tights to retain his championship!

Josh Mathews & Jack Swagger + Cody Rhodes + Alberto Del Rio & Tyler Reks & Drew McIntyre: Jack was pissed that he was not the captain tonight, because he was the only former World champion on the team. Swagger called Miami “little Cuba” and got some cheap heat. Cody Rhodes came in and said he knows why Jack was upset, because he caught him trying (and failing) to get into a club here in Miami last night. Cody made fun of Swagger’s shoes, and Swagger said they belonged to his grandfather (what was the point of that?). Alberto Del Rio came in with Tyker Reks & Drew McIntyre behind him. Alberto did his best to band his team together to destroy Rey Mysterio and his little friends.

Team Rey (Rey Mysterio & The Big Show & Kofi Kingston & Chris Masters & Montel Vontavious Porter) defeated Team Alberto (Alberto Del Rio & Drew McIntyre & Cody Rhodes & Jack Swagger & Tyler Reks): MVP got a huge pop because Miami is his hometown, so what did they do, they made him get eliminated FIRST! He was sent packing by Drew McIntyre while Alberto Del Rio held his foot from the outside. Moments later, Chris Masters was eliminated when Del Rio made him tap out to the Armbar! Del Rio became overly arrogant, so the Big Show knocked him out! A few minutes later, Kofi Kingston hit Cody Rhodes in the ‘dashing’ face and he flipped out! Big Show knocked him out and pinned him so Cody Rhodes was eliminated. Del Rio was carried away due to having been knocked out and would not return. Swagger put Big Show in the Anklelock, but Show slowly crawled to the corner and tagged Mysterio! Tyler Reks was eliminated by Kofi Kingston. Kofi was then eliminated by Jack Swagger and the Anklelock. Now it was Big Show & Mysterio against McIntyre & Swagger – with no clarification on Del Rio’s status. Swagger was eliminated by a double-team move from Show/Mysterio. The Big Show & Rey Mysterio finished off McIntyre for the victory!

Josh Mathews & Randy Orton: Josh Mathews asked Randy Orton what he thinks about John Cena tonight, and Orton said he was sick of people talking about John Cena. Orton said he was thinking about how to beat Wade Barrett tonight. Orton said John knows that being fired is the best situation for him, because if he screws him over tonight, he will make his life a living hell!

Natalya Neidhart defeated LayCool (Michelle McCool & Layla El) to win the WWE Diva’s title!: Natalya used the Sharpshooter on Michelle McCool to win the title! She started to cry. After the match, LayCool double-teamed Natalya until Beth Phoenix returned to make the save!

World Heavyweight champion Kane vs. Edge ended in a double-pin draw: Edge came out alone first, but then went back and returned with an empty wheelchair. Kane was so unstable not knowing where his father was tonight. Kane spent most of the match trying to force Edge into telling him what happened to Paul Bearer. Late in the match, Edge went for a spear but Kane took him down with a big boot and followed up with a choke-slam! Edge managed to kick out and Kane got frustrated with the referee. Edge recovered and connected with a spear, but when they fell both men’s shoulders were flat on the mat and the referee counted one, two, three! The ring announcer mistakenly announced Edge as the new champion, but the referee waved it off and said it was a TIE so Kane retained the World Heavyweight title! After the match, Kane attacked Edge and tried to find out where Paul Bearer was. Edge countered and threw Kane head-first into the ring post. Edge put Kane in the wheel-chair and pushed him through the safety barrier with a heavy crash!

John Cena & Wade Barrett: Wade Barrett reminded John Cena that this building was the place the Nexus first attacked John Cena and left him a broken mess. Barrett said he knew that one day Cena would be instrumental in his one day winning the WWE championship. Barrett said Cena can do his job tonight and be free from the Nexus forever, but if he chooses otherwise it will be all over for him. Cena said he remembers this building, and remembers every single thing the Nexus has ever done to him. Cena told Barrett to remember that no matter what happens tonight, he knows exactly what he’s doing.

The Nexus (Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel w/David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty & Husky Harris) defeated Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov to retain the WWE Tag Team titles: Members of The Nexus were at ringside and interfered to help the champions retain. After the match, the Anonymous General Manager sent an email banning all of Nexus from ringside during the main event or they would all be fired.

Randy Orton defeated Wade Barrett to retain the WWE Championship: John Cena was the referee, If Wade Barrett won the title, then Cena would be free from Nexus, but if Orton retained the title, then Cena would be fired from the WWE. There was dueling chants of “let’s go Cena!” and “Cena sucks!” The announcers were told to shut up so the TV audience could hear it. Cena did what he said and called it right down the middle. The finish saw Barrett hit Wasteland on Orton, but Orton grabbed the bottom rope to break the count. Barrett confronted Cena and shoved him, so Cena shoved Barrett into an RKO! Cena counted two, then hesitated, but did count the three to give Orton the victory! Matt Striker proclaimed “Cena is FREE!” and Michael Cole corrected him “no, Cena is FIRED!” (that killed the momemt).

CONCLUSION: John Cena ripped off his Nexus armband and the Nexus ran down to attack him but he and Orton took them all out. The Nexus quickly retreated, along with their defeated leader. Cena presented Orton with the WWE championship belt and they hugged. The Cena-haters tried to start a “nah nah nah nah hey hey hey good bye” chant but it didn’t catch on. Orton had a quick celebration and left Cena in the ring. Cena soaked in the crowd response. The chanted “Cena! Cena! Cena!” and he saluted all four sides of the arena. Cena went over and hugged Michael Cole (but ignored Lawler & Striker) then slapped hands with fans at ringside. They gave Cena a farewell and pretended like he was fired from WWE legitimately. he went up to the stage and posed before walking through the arena high-fiving everybody he passed.
