WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon is on the stage, flanked by WWE Superstars. “Throughout this past year, our WWE Superstars performed tirelessly for you.” Week after week, month after month they worked hard, but something was missing: the WWE fans. As we emerge from this terrible pandemic, on behalf of the WWE family, we welcome you to WRESTLEMANIA! The live crowd erupts.
“Then. Now. Forever.” The new and improved WWE video leads us into the show.
Bebe Rexha sings “America the Beautiful” with a guitarist in the ring. Vince McMahon and the WWE performers remain on the stage. Some of them are visibly emotional as the song continues.
The WrestleMania 37 video plays with the Johnny Depp impersonator coming back to do his Captain Jack Sparrow.
We go live into Raymond James Stadium with a live crowd, the first time in one year, one month, and one day. Michael Cole, Byron Saxton, and Samoa Joe are at ringside. The show is going to be delayed due to a thunderstorm! We have to wait a little longer for WrestleMania 37 to begin!
Weather Delay
We will continue with exclusive interviews with WWE Superstars until the show restarts.
Sarah Schreiber is backstage with Shane McMahon. McMahon says he has goosebumps from the start of the show. It’s great to have the crowd back. She asks why he has a problem with Braun Strowman. McMahon says he just likes having fun with Strowman. Even though he’s called him stupid, it wasn’t stupid for Strowman to pick a Steel Cage Match. Still, McMahon will take him out.
WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and MVP interrupt McMahon and take over the interview. MVP says Lashley is out for violence. Drew McIntyre will lose his dignity, consciousness, and the match. Drew McIntyre walks up and gets in Lashley’s face. McIntyre tells MVP to keep talking. MVP stands in between them. MVP tries to keep the situation under control. McIntyre says Mother Nature doesn’t matter. They can have this match back here. McIntyre dares him to come at him. Referees and producers step in to keep them apart.
Sarah Schreiber runs up and asks McIntyre where his head is at. McIntyre says it was emotional seeing fans, but he won’t lose it right now. McIntyre says last year at the Performance Center, he won the WWE Championship on his first chance. He lost it for three weeks, but got it back at the ThunderDome. Now he’ll be the first one out in front of the fans and the damn weather is trying to stop it from happening. No matter what, this match is happening. McIntyre was extremely fired up throughout that promo.
The Kickoff Show panel talks about what we just saw.
Kevin Patrick is backstage with Raw Tag Team Champions the New Day. Xavier Woods says it’s been over a year since they’ve had fans. Patrick wasn’t even here yet. Patrick says he was here to see them get the Tag Titles back before accepting a challenge from AJ Styles and Omos. Kofi Kingston isn’t even sure Styles and Omos are a registered tag team, but Patrick says they did register. They’re ready. Woods doesn’t care how big Omos is or how phenomenal Styles is. They accepted this challenge because they’ve already beaten every tag team in the company. WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E walks up and says we’ll see why New Day are the best tag team on God’s green earth. We’ll see two men at their very best and their peak. We are blessed to watch them do work!

Sarah Schreiber is backstage with Braun Strowman. Strowman says he’s fighting for everyone that has ever been called stupid or been bullied. He’ll beat Shane McMahon within an inch of his career. Schreiber says it seems like McMahon is making a huge mistake getting in the cage with Strowman. Strowman says that’s true. He’ll be standing over a corpse tonight.
Kevin Patrick is backstage with Kevin Owens. Owens takes the microphone and talks about his friendship with Sami Zayn through the years. They’ve wrestled all over the world. They’ve done this hundreds of times. Through those 20 years, no two people were looked down and talked down to by industry experts more than them. They were told they’d never make it to the show. Tomorrow night, they’ll do it at WrestleMania. A super weird audio glitch kicks up. This is not the Zayn he’s known for two decades. That’s ok because in the end, no matter what people say or what obstacles they’ve run through, it’s WrestleMania. Tomorrow night, he’ll stun sense into Sami Zayn. If Logan Paul wants to try something, he’ll be in the ring.
Michael Cole and Samoa Joe are wearing ponchos. It’s raining hard in Tampa. Cole says WrestleMania can start in 5 minutes.
Bianca Belair is backstage with Sarah Schreiber. Belair is putting it all on the line, but they’re doing it for the fans tonight. She’s thrilled to have the fans back and will give it her all.
Kevin Patrick is backstage with Seth Rollins. Rollins loves the chaos of the weather. Patrick asks about Cesaro. Rollins thinks Patrick’s name is “Mike.” Rollins says he’s wanted to address the disrespect from “Zazaro.” Rollins thinks he’s trying to use Rollins’ superstardom to go into the potential he’s been meandering in for years. Rollins is the new Mr. WrestleMania and will have the performance of a lifetime. What a night!
