WRESTLING BABYLON: Piledriving Tales of Drugs, Sex, Death, and Scandal is a “great read (whether you’re a wrestling fan or not),” providing “a brutally honest look at some of wrestling’s darkest moments,” says a review at the popular wrestling website WorldWrestlingInsanity.com.

Calling author Irvin Muchnick “a true wordsmith,” reviewer Mike Rickard II adds that WRESTLING BABYLON provides “a keen analysis of the evolution of professional wrestling and the much ballyhooed ‘dumbing down of America’” and draws deft parallels between the spread of performance-enhancing drugs in wrestling and that in major league sports.
