6/19 Raw house show results from Des Moines, IA: MVP over Matt Hardy; The Miz over Goldust; Sheamus (has now lost the surname) over Jamie Noble; Santino Marella over The Brian Kendrick; Kofi Kingston over MVP; John Cena over The Miz; The Colons over The Legacy; Maryse over Brie Bella; and Randy Orton over Triple H.

Estimated attendance was 6600 which was considered a slight disappointment in the 17,000 capacity building. A few reports said it was a bad weekend to run wrestling in the town as there were a lot of other events going on. Big Show was a no show. MVP and Miz worked double duty. Angela Fong from developmental is back on the road this weekend working the Raw shows. She is being groomed as a ring announcer.

6/20 Raw house show results from Moline, IL: Santino Marella over The Brian Kendrick; Shamus over Jamie Noble; The Miz over Goldust; Kofi Kingston over Matt Hardy and MVP in a three-way; The Colons over The Legacy; Mickie James over Maryse in a non title match; and John Cena & Triple H over Randy Orton & Big Show. WWE and Donald Trump will be holding a press conference prior to Raw in Green Bay on Monday. Fans are invited to the conference at the Green Bay Airport Executive Air Terminal at 4pm.

FOX Business at http://tinyurl.com/lts2aw picked up on the possible SEC violation by WWE over the press release on Donald Trump ‘buying’ Raw.

Candice Michelle may have been released earlier in the week as she emailed a blog to WWE.com on Thursday which went online and then disappeared within an hour. In the blog she thanked the McMahon family, agents, talent and fans who have supported her during her tenure with the company. She said she was looking forward to the next chapter in her life, and encouraged fans to check out her new website. My gut feeling is that its unlikely she would go to TNA or that TNA would want to use her. She is married to a millionaire doctor and doesn’t need to work.
Her long-term goal has always been acting in Hollywood, according to those who would know.

Chris Jericho talks about his upcoming book at http://tinyurl.com/lxhwxk which will be published through Grand Central Publishing rather than WWE Books. On working on Smackdown compared to Raw, he said: “SmackDown is the better show overall. Better performers, better wrestling. I think it’s a much better show. I think a lot of that has to do with the acquisitions of Punk and myself. With Mysterio, Hardy, Edge, and the Undertaker coming back I think there are some great combinations and some great matches to be had. I really honestly believe it is the better show of the two right now.”

Paul Heyman at www.the-sun.co.uk/wrestling talks about how he was responsible for CM Punk getting called up to the main roster from developmental.

Reality TV star and former beauty queen Shanna Moakler wrote on her Twitter that she wore a WWF t-shirt in the gym and that several guys tried to pick her up talking about how they also loved pro wrestling.
Moakler said she was actually wearing a World Wildlife Federation shirt and had no clue what they were talking about.

Superstars on Thursday drew a 0.9 rating.

The Appleton, WI Post at http://tinyurl.com/nv788d has a story on Ted DiBiase Jr. He compares himself to Festus and noted that Harley Race had a hand in training himself and his father. He also seems to believe that it was Race wrestling his grandfather “Iron” Mike DiBiase at the time he suffered a heart attack in the ring in 1969. The guy he was actually wrestling that night was Man Mountain Mike, although Race did attempt CPR and then rode in the ambulance to the hospital with him, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Kansas City Star at http://tinyurl.com/mtsw56 has a story on Jennifer Hudson’s fiance David Otunga training in developmental.

The WWE stock closed out the week at $12.42 on the NYSE.
TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION WRESTLING NEWS
6/19 house show results from Grand Rapids, MI: Chris Sabin over Jay Lethal; Jackie Moore over Rhaka Khan; Daniels over Eric Young; Rhino over Matt Morgan; Angelina Love over Taylor Wilde; Suicide over Alex Shelley; and Beer Money Inc. over Kurt Angle & Scott Steiner.
Suicide-Shelley was said to be match of ther night. Worst match was Jackie-Rhaka which one reader described as “just brutal.” There is a report up with pictures at http://www.hittheropes.com.

Tonight is TNA’s Slammiversary PPV from The Palace Of Auburn Hills. The line up is Eric Young & Rhino vs. The British Invasion on the pre-show; Abyss & Taylor Wilde vs. Raven & Daffney in a Monster’s Ball match; Angelina Love vs. the artist formerly known as Victoria for the Knockouts title; Daniels vs. Shane Douglas in a loser leaves TNA match; Matt Morgan vs. Sting – if Morgan wins, he joins the Main Event Mafia; Team 3D vs. Beer Money, Inc. for the tag titles; Suicide vs. Jay Lethal vs. Consequences Creed vs. Alex Shelley vs. Chris Sabin in KOTM for the X-Division title; and Mick Foley vs. Jeff Jarrett vs. AJ Styles vs.
Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle in KOTM for the TNA title.

Samoa Joe is working tonight with a torn triceps and broken fingers.
Depending on how you view it, really brave or really stupid, probably both.

Also, and while all three are likely at the show due to the location, Scott D’Amore with Petey Williams and Jimmy Rave are backstage at The Palace.

TV for the next month is taped this coming Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Universal in Orlando. We’re looking for reader reports from the tapings to [email protected].

Kurt Angle did an interview on Detroit radio on Friday pushing Slammiversary. He talked about having two years left on his TNA contract but revealed he would be open to one last run with WWE before he retires. “I can’t tell you where I’m going to be in three years. I’d like to be in TNA, but I can’t guarantee it,” Angle said on Sports Radio WDFN. “If I could have one last run, heck, I’d do it. Yeah why not?
Rumors are going to be flying now that Kurt Angle wants to go to WWE…
That’s completely untrue, I am very happy where I am, but I will never say never.” The next day in Grand Rapids at the house show, Angle, well, didn’t say never, but did say, “Vince McMahon can kiss my ass!” Angle was on the mic after the show and made it clear he intends to stay with TNA.

Bound For Glory will be announced tonight on the PPV for 10/18 at the University Of California’s Bren Events Center in Irvine, a short drive from Los Angeles. The venue can hold 5000 to 6000 so they have a decent shot of a capacity crowd. This will likely be Sting’s last date with the company as things currently stand.

Team 3D made it to Detroit after defending the IWGP tag titles last night in Osaka. Hiroshi Tanahashi beat Manabu Nakanishi to win the IWGP Heavyweight title.

IGN.com at http://tinyurl.com/lx4z69 interviewed Jeff Jarrett. Nothing earth shattering.

Impact on Thursday did a 1.2 rating.

www.WorldWrestlingInsanity.com has a new interview up with Paul Roma. He said he can’t stand to watch wrestling today, especially TNA’s “piss poor wrestling” and “horrible writing.” On Foley as champion: “Mick Foley can’t wrestle – plain and simple,” he said. “Most wrestlers would agree probably even him. So if he’s not launching himself off a roof, gouging his head, breaking bones, or spitting blood, it’s boring. He can’t do anything. What is it he can do?… They expect to see this idiot jeopardize his life, otherwise they don’t care because that’s what they’re used to… It is what it is. It’s a clown. And that’s what Mick Foley is. He’s a clown.”

The Miami Herald at http://tinyurl.com/ltetq3 has a story on Chris “Abyss” Parks. He said he left a $70,000 per year job to pursue wrestling and made just $9200 in his best year on the independents before he signed with TNA.

Abyss also previews Slammiversary at www.mondaynightmayhem.com.

Multi Channel News at http://tinyurl.com/nts9ej has a story on TNA’s new video-on-demand website. Mike Weber, VP of marketing, is quoted in the story but declined to comment on how many buys a typical PPV does.

TNA has added house shows in Biloxi, MS on 8/7 and Baton Rouge on 8/8.
OTHER WRESTLING NEWS

There will be a Mitsuharu Misawa Memorial Show at the Differ Ariake Arena in Tokyo on 7/4. The location is symbolic as it was the first arena that ran a Pro Wrestling NOAH show and is located near the company offices. All Japan, New Japan and WWE are hoping to have a presence on the show. John Laurinaitis has said he will try to send a couple of guys to the show. WWE has no events scheduled that day but they are in San Diego on 7/4, Hawaii on 7/5 and then run in Tokyo, Japan on 7/7 and 7/8 respectively.

Media in Japan are reporting that Akitoshi Saito is apparently on suicide watch. Saito gave the suplex to Misawa that killed him last weekend. The reports noted that Saito’s house has been vandalized and his parents have received death threats. Crazy stuff. Jim Ross wrote in his latest blog: “This sad story just continues to keep getting sadder and the pro wrestling scene in Japan is perhaps at one of its lowest periods in years.”

There were also reports this week that Japan is on the verge on forming a wrestler’s union. Some guys are pushing to introduce a license system and there is a lot of talk about preventing accidents in the future, including; training for wrestler’s and referee’s about how to observe the physical condition of their opponent, ring doctors, regular medical checks (like the WWE Wellness Program), mandatory retirement age and so on. The later would probably never happen when you consider guys in the U.S. like Flair, Funk and countless others wrestling into their 60s. .

Bryan Danielson is suffering from a staph infection. He was present at the Ring of Honor TV tapings but didn’t work any matches this past weekend in Philadelphia. We hope to have an update on his condition in the next few days.

Brock and Rena Lesnar will be participating in a Celebrity Golf Tournament next weekend at Rose Creek Gold Course in Fargo, MN. For those that asked, the couple named their baby Turk, and no, I have no idea why. On a related note, Lesnar recently won the “Most Dangerous Man” award at the Guy’s Choice Awards. The show airs tonight on Spike TV at 10pm ET.

Matt Riviera, an indy wrestler and aspiring actor, has been cast in a new VH-1 reality show called Megan Wants a Millionaire. The premise of the show is Megan Hauserman (who has appeared in several reality shows as a contestant) has seventeen single men with a net worth of over $1 million competing for her love. Filming is already underway and the show premieres on 10/2.

From the ‘Where Are They Now’ files, The Sioux City Journal at http://tinyurl.com/n3zuwg has a story on Rapmaster PN News who at 42-years-old is back working indy shows to try and land a WWE contract.
The story notes he owns a tow truck company out of Omaha. “There’s a love/hate thing involved with professional wrestling,” he said. “Once you get in the ring, it’s an addiction. You just can’t walk away and stay away from it.”

Filsinger Games are developing a new wrestling trading card game. Rob Van Dam, Harley Race and One Man Gang are among those signed on.

Ric Flair is scheduled to appear at the WalMart in Summerville, SC on Thursday from 6-8pm.

The former Tugboat (Typhoon), Justin Credible, Terri Runnels, The Patriot, Salvatore Sincere, Joe E. Legend and Bushwhacker Luke appear in Uelzen, Germany on 9/5 for the DWA group.

Diva-Dirt.com presents WGN’s Diva of the Day, Tara (Victoria) at http://www.diva-dirt.com/divaoftheday/
