Chris Jericho: Chris Jericho started the night in the lobby of the arena surrounded by security to make a point that he doesn’t want to mingle with any of the fans. Jericho walked out into the arena, and down some steps through the crowd towards the ring – while talking about his dislike for the fans and promising to destroy John Cena at Armageddon. Jericho said he doesn’t care about the fans but he does care about his son. Jericho said three years ago John Cena beat him in a match that got him fired from the WWE. Jericho remembered seeing his son emulate John Cena’s “you can’t see me” so he banned him from watching the WWE. Jericho said his son’s true hero will come home with the World Heavyweight title after Armageddon.
INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT
Rey Mysterio vs. Mike “The Miz” Mizanin did not happen: Before the match, a bearded Mike Knox blocked Rey’s entrance to the ring and attacked him! Mysterio slipped off the ramp and landed awkwardly on his arm (scripted). The match was cancelled.
BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW
Todd Grisham & Stephanie McMahon + Layla El: Stephanie McMahon announced that Rey Mysterio had torn his ligaments in his arm. Layla El approached Stephanie and said if Rey cannot compete she shouldn’t be in the tournament. Stephanie said she couldn’t agree more and walked away. Layla smiles.
NON (TAG TEAM) TITLE MATCH
World Tag Team champions C.M. Punk & Kofi Kingston defeated Cody Rhodes & Manu: Backstage after the match, Randy Orton was shown watching Rhodes & Manu on the monitor – showing that he was not impressed.
VIGNETTE: DX (Triple H & Shawn Michaels) plugging the Elimination Chamber toy set – these segments are hilarious.
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Randy Orton + Cody Rhodes & Manu: Cody Rhodes confronted Randy Orton for giving them dirty looks, and pointed out that Orton didn’t win his match last week either. Orton said at Survivor Series, he and Rhodes were on the same team and they won. Orton suggested they take the first step in realizing their collective potential. Orton said if they were interested he would be in his locker room.
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Chris Jericho + Kane: Chris Jericho found Kane and told him that the boys are saying John Cena is an unstoppable monster and that Kane will tap out to the STF-U. Kane called Jericho’s bluff and told him not to play mind games with him. Kane said he will put a show on for the people because he loves the people and they love him back. Kane said he has a feeling Jericho will get what he wants but don’t even approach him again.
DIVAS MATCH
Melina Perez defeated Jillian Hall: Before the match, Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix came down and joined Michael Cole & Jerry Lawler on commentary. They pointed out that Melina used to be friends with Beth, but neglected to point out that Melina was friends with Jillian long before that. After the match, Santino stood up and said that he was not impressed with Melina’s win. Melina grabbed the mic and said Beth might be a Glamazon but she doesn’t know how to be glamourous. Melina said she was going to take Beth’s favorite accessory – her Women’s championship. Santino made fun of Melina’s entrance and said he could do it better. Santino tried to do Melina’s famous split-legged entry into the ring but fell backwards! Melina had a good laugh at Santino’s expense. Melina showed him how it was done and did a bounce off the ropes into a very sexy split!
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Santino Marella + Goldust: They showed a replay of Santino’s embarassing moment, and then Santino was shown hurting backstage. Santino started enjoying a shoulder massage from someone he assumed as the Glamazon – but it was Goldust!
IN THE RING
John Bradshaw Layfield + Shawn Michaels: John Bradshaw Layfield challenged Shawn Michaels to a street fight tonight and demanded an immediate response. Shawn Michaels came out dressed for a street fight. JBL said Michaels can fight him in a Street Fight or take him up on his offer. JBL said he knows that Michaels lost his nest egg in the stock market. JBL offered Michaels the opportunity to come work for him. JBL pointed out that Michaels has nothing if he can’t wrestle, and offered to help his family. Michaels stood with a blank look on his face, so JBL dared him to take the first shot if he wanted it. JBL said if he took the shot then the offer would be off the table forever. Shawn Michaels started to cry. This is kind of dumb and very unrealistic. Michaels turned around with tears in his eyes and left the ring. As Shawn Michaels was walking up the ramp, JBL shouted “looking forward to doing business with you, Shawn!” Michaels hesitated and then continued on his exit. Lame. They are claiming that the fans booed Shawn Michaels out of the arena.
VIGNETTE: They did a commercial spoof with a “Real WWE Customer” – a hot girl named Jen Bloodsworth. They hired WWE Super Star “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan to tell her story. The beautiful fan claimed she shopped for her entire family on WWEshop.com – DOUBLE LAME! But that girl was fricking HOT!!
SQUASH MATCH
Batista defeated Dolph Ziggler: This guy sort of looks like Mr. Perfect but wrestles like Duane Gill. After the match, Randy Orton came down and sarcastically congratulated Batista, and then warned him that “some day it will be me versus you.” Batista laughed and said Stephanie already told him that they would wrestle at Armageddon in two weeks!
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Chris Jericho + Randy Orton: Chris Jericho proposed that they let Kane do his thing with John Cena and then he and Orton hit the ring and finish the job. Orton said he doesn’t need to fight Jericho’s battles. Orton said he’s fighting Batista at Armageddon and will beat the World Heavyweight champion – it doesn’t matter who it is. Jericho pointed out that Randy Orton has been an afterthought all because of John Cena.

John Morrison defeated Fit Finlay w/Hornswoggle: John Morrison advances to face C.M. Punk in the second round.
ON STAGE
Stephanie McMahon: Stephanie announced the nominees for WWE Super Star of the Year for next week’s Slammy Awards. 1) Edge, 2) Batista, 3) Jeff Hardy, 4) Chris Jericho, 5) Triple H, and 6) John Cena.. Stephanie also booked Jericho vs. Hardy, Cena vs. Edge, and Triple H vs. Batista next week — Stephanie actually mispoke at one point and said “Oops, I pulled an Adamle!”

Rey Mysterio defeated Mike “The Miz” Mizanin: Rey Mysterio competed in this match against doctor’s orders (storyline). Miraculously, Rey Mysterio scored the victory despite suffering torn ligaments in his arm at the hands of Mike Knox earlier in the night. Rey Mysterio advances to face Kofi Kingston in the second round.
NON (WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT) TITLE MATCH
World Heavyweight champion John Cena defeated Kane: John Cena was just about to put Kane in the STF-U when Chris Jericho ran down and briefly fought with Cena. Kane recovered and went for a Choke-slam but Cena countered twice and hit the FU for the 1-2-3 to win the match! Jericho started to climb into the ring but backed off when Cena stood up and looked at him. Jericho tried to run away but Cena chased him down and started beating on him! Suddenly Cody Rhodes & Manu attacked John Cena – and Jericho joined in. Randy Orton appeared out of thin air and attacked Cena before giving him a vicious implant DDT on the concrete floor! Orton, Rhodes, and Manu then put the boots to an unconcious Cena. Jericho took off his jacket and kicked Cena in the ribs and then began punching him in the head and neck! Jericho put Cena in the Walls of Jericho on the concrete, bending Cena’s neck in an awkward position until he passed out!
