“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

A video kicks off the show highlighting the five year history of the NXT TakeOver shows, as well as the big matches we’ll see tonight on NXT TakeOver XXV.

We go live into the arena and are welcomed by Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuinness, and Beth Phoenix.

Roderick Strong vs. Matt Riddle

The bell rings, and there is a lighting miscue as only the crowd is lit. Then the lights focus on the ring. Riddle takes Strong down with a waistlock takeover. Strong tries to take him down, but Riddle fights him off. Riddle goes for a Bromission, but Strong rolls to the ropes. Strong tackles him into the ropes and chops the chest. Riddle quickly comes back with a trio of rolling gutwrench suplexes. Strong rolls out of the ring to recover. Riddle goes to the apron, but Strong grabs the leg. Riddle quickly punches and chops him before leaping off the stairs with a flying forearm. Riddle kicks and punches him. Strong tries to kick him away, but Riddle fights back. They’re fighting on the apron before Strong pushes him into the ring post and gives him a backbreaker on the apron.

Strong attacks Riddle and knocks him out of the ring. Strong gets him back in the ring for a two count. Strong chops the chest and tries to send him into the ropes, but Riddle holds on. Riddle punches away at him, but Strong comes right back with a backbreaker for a near fall. Strong attacks the back and applies a knee-to-the-back chin lock. Riddle fights up, but Strong knees him in the midsection. Strong goes outside and stretches him around the ring post. Strong gets back in the ring and punches away at Riddle. Riddle fights back and catches him with a cradle for a two count. Strong quickly comes back with an Angle Slam for a near fall. Strong goes to stretch him out, but Riddle slides off and goes for a Bromission. Strong gets out, but Riddle connects with a brainbuster. Riddle makes a comeback and sends him to the corner with an overhead kick. Riddle attacks him in the corner and hits an exploder suplex. Riddle goes for a standing moonsault, but Strong moves. Riddle quickly hits a senton and a penalty kick for a near fall.

Riddle kicks away at Strong’s chest, but Strong knees him. Riddle quickly catches him with a Go To Sleep and hits a bridging German Suplex for a near fall. Strong slides out of a slam and kicks him back to the corner. Strong quickly kicks him on the top rope and executes a superplex for a near fall. They exchange punches. Riddle tries to lift him, but his back gives out. Strong wildly forearms away at him and slams him down, but Riddle somehow kicks out. Riddle kicks Strong out of the ring, but Strong gets back in. Riddle quickly powerbombs him and hits a vicious knee strike to the back for a near fall! Riddle goes for a twisting moonsault, but Strong gets the knees up. Strong hits a big knee to the face and a Tiger Driver ’98 for a near fall. Riddle then immediately applies the Walls of Jericho! Riddle fights out and kicks away at the face. Riddle applies the Bromission, but Riddle’s back is in too much pain so he can’t cinch it in. Strong elbows out, but Riddle fights back and hits a big slam for the win!

Street Profits vs. Forgotten Sons vs. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch vs. The Undisputed ERA

A big brawl breaks out. The Undisputed ERA takes down Montez Ford before wiping out The Forgotten Sons. Lorcan and Burch get in the ring with the Undisputed ERA. They fights it out before Burch head-butts O’Reilly down. Lorcan chops away at both before Fish knees him in the midsection. O’Reilly and Fish go for a ladder outside the ring. They take one ladder, but Wesley Blake takes them out with a suicide dive into the ladder! Lorcan and Burch take out Cutler. Angelo Dawkins then wipes everyone out with a dive off the top rope. O’Reilly gets in the ring and climbs the ladder, but he’s knocked off and lands on the ladder! The Forgotten Sons put the ladder on and take out the Street Profits and the Undisputed ERA. Lorcan and Burch then hit them with stereo German Suplexes that send that ladder flying!

The Street Profits take out Lorcan and Burch with a spinebuster and frog splash. They put Blake on a ladder and hold it up on the ropes. Ford leapfrogs Dawkins and lands on Blake. They then give Cutler a double-team facebuster on the ladder, but the Undisputed ERA takes them out. They hit a big combo move that culminates with them giving Ford a German Suplex on the ladder! Wow!

The Undisputed ERA take out Dawkins with the ladder. They set the ladder up and knock Lorcan and Burch off the apron. O’Reilly climbs the ladder while Fish tries to climb the ladder. Blake powerbombs O’Reilly into the ladder to knock it over, and Fish lands on O’Reilly! The crowd is chanting, “Mamma Mia!”

Cutler sets up the ladder over O’Reilly, but O’Reilly pulls him through the ladder. Blake stomps away at O’Reilly and throws him out of the ring. Fish fights Cutler, but The Forgotten Sons come back with a reverse DDT stomp to the chest. The Forgotten Sons climb both sides of the ladder slowly. Dawkins and Burch get both in electric chair position. Lorcan and Burch hit one with a modified Doomsday Device. The Street Profits hit the other with an electric chair blockbuster! Unreal!

O’Reilly goes to climb the ladder, but Jaxson Ryker comes out and cuts him off. Ryker delivers a chokeslam to Burch and clears the ring. Ryker knocks Dawkins off the ladder and smashes it into him a number of times. Lorcan charges Ryker, but Ryker gives him a back body drop into the ladder! Ford attacks Ryker, but he fights him off. All the teams now take down Ryker and stomp away at him. Six men join together and slam the ladder onto Ryker a few times. The Undisputed ERA then throw their temporary partners out of the ring. Ryker pulls himself up on the apron. O’Reilly’s back is all cut up. The Undisputed ERA then drive a ladder into Ryker’s face to knock him off the apron. Ford then barely hits Ryker with a summersault senton to the floor! Ryker still gets up, so Lorcan hits him with a plancha. Dawkins runs in, but they take him down with the ladder. Burch then dropkicks the ladder into the Undisputed ERA.

Lorcan and Burch attack the arm of Fish and throw him into the ring post. They now attack O’Reilly and turn him inside out with a German Suplex. They fight off the Forgotten Sons and take down the Street Profits. Dawkins and Ford pull themselves up only to get sandwiched by two ladders from Lorcan and Burch. They then throw the ladder of the top rope onto all three Forgotten Sons! Lorcan and Burch set up a large ladder in the ring, but it’s a little off-center. Fish and O’Reilly cut them off and pull them down. Fish and O’Reilly then set up a ladder next to the other one set up in the ring. Lorcan, Burch, and the Undisputed ERA climb the two ladders. They punch and kick each other with each step climbed. They reach for the titles while throwing punches. The Forgotten Sons then tip both ladders over to knock them all onto the ropes! The Forgotten Sons climb, but Dawkins takes Cutler off and spears him. Ford jumps off the top rope onto the ladder and knocks Blake off! Ford then grabs the titles to win the match!

Winners and new NXT Tag Team Champions: Street Profits

Io Shirai is warming up. Candice LeRae says she’ll be there for her tonight. Shirai thanks her.

Tyler Breeze vs. Velveteen Dream (c)

The bell rings, and Velveteen Dream takes off his gloves before throwing them at Breeze. Breeze just shakes it off. The crowd is chanting, “Velveteen.” They lock up, and Dream wrenches the arm. Breeze twists out and goes for the Unprettier, but Dream quickly scurries away. Breeze then lays out on the top turnbuckle and taunts Dream. Breeze attacks Dream and hits an interesting backbreaker. Breeze then clotheslines him out of the ring. Breeze goes for a suicide dive, but Dream punches him. Dream then takes him down with an axe handle off the top rope. Dream follows up with a Lionsault for a near fall. Breeze quickly gets out of the ring, crotches him on the ring post, and smashes the leg off the post. Breeze then hits a flying forearm off the apron. Breeze goes for a flying forearm, but Dream punches him in the face. Dream leaps, but his knee gives out. Breeze immediately applies a single leg crab. Dream screams in pain, but he makes it to the bottom rope.

Dream slaps him back, so Breeze unloads with stomps and punches before dropkicking him over the top rope. Breeze goes outside, and Dream superkicks him. Dream gets in the ring and recovers. Dream then goes back outside and viciously smashes Breeze’s head off the commentary table a few times. Dream then poses. Dream takes his title and does a selfie. He then poses with a semi-conscious Breeze for a selfie. Dream poses for a few moments before Breeze superkicks him. Dream gets in the ring, and Breeze joins him before being counted out. Dream immediately hits him with the Dream Valley Driver for a near fall. Dream goes to the top rope, but Breeze rolls to the apron. Breeze then catches him with an enzuigiri. Breeze goes to the top rope and hits a cross-body block, but Dream rolls through for a two count. Dream grabs the leg and rolls through into a fireman’s carry. Breeze gets out, but Dream avoids a Supermodel Kick. Dream goes for a move, but Breeze gets out and connects with a Supermodel Kick for a near fall.

The crowd is doing dueling chants for both men. Dream gets out of an Unprettier. Breeze continues to try, but Dream powers him to the corner. Dream boots him back and goes for a springboard splash, but Breeze dropkicks him. Dream soon comes back with a Dream-DT for a near fall! Breeze is bleeding from the ear. Dream goes to the top rope, but Breeze crotches him up there. Breeze goes for a DDT, but Dream throws him off. Breeze comes back with a knee to the face, and Dream is down. Breeze goes for a Tombstone, but Dream bridges out. Breeze then bridges, and Dream bridges fight back. Dream avoids an enzuigiri and goes for a Dream Valley Driver, but Breeze slides off. Dream hits Breeze with the Unprettier for a near fall!

Dream goes for the Purple Rainmaker, but Breeze gets his knees up. Dream goes to the second rope, but Breeze hits him with a Supermodel Kick. Breeze follows up with a crazy Unprettier… but Velveteen Dream kicks out! Breeze is incredulous.

Breeze pulls the limp body of Dream up, and Dream catches him with a small package for a two count. Breeze quickly hits the Beauty Shot, but Dream flies out of the ring. Breeze desperately tries to keep him in the ring. Breeze goes outside and drags Dream, but he’s totally out. Breeze gets in the ring and tells the referee to stop counting. Dream grabs the North American Championship, but Breeze takes it away. The referee takes the title, and Dream immediately catches Breeze with the Dream Valley Driver. Dream quickly goes to the top rope and hits the Purple Rainmaker for the win!

Winner and still NXT North American Champion: Velveteen Dream

Velveteen Dream hands Tyler Breeze the cell phone. Breeze isn’t sure, but then obliges to do a selfie with Dream. Dream poses and then walks off.

Io Shirai vs. Shayna Baszler (c)

They give Shayna Baszler a Goldberg like entrance by following her around backstage. Baszler is followed by Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir. Baszler then fist bumps then and leaves them in the back.

The bell rings, and Shirai charges Baszler. Baszler quickly takes her down and playfully taps her with her foot. Shirai is angry and powers her to the corner. Baszler takes her down and goes for an arm stomp, but Shirai gets out. Shirai takes her down and slaps her in the face. Baszler is more angry than hurt. Shirai then attacks again and knocks her out of the ring. Shirai attacks her outside and gets her in the ring. Shirai goes to the top rope, but Baszler pulls her down. Baszler then stomps the arm with the Reality Check. Baszler manipulates the fingers, but Shirai rolls her up for a one count. Baszler quickly clotheslines her down for a two count. Baszler steps on the head and grabs the arm before hitting an arm snapper. Baszler applies a wrist lock and slams her. Baszler now stretches her out. Shirai gets out and grabs her, but her arm is too hurt. Baszler takes her down and puts on a lazy cover for a two count. Baszler sets up for another Reality Check, but Shirai avoids it. Shirai grabs her and struggles to pull her up for a German Suplex, but she has to let get before the pin because her arm is too shot. Shirai takes Baszler down three times and hits a 619. Rey Mysterio is her idol. Shirai hits a springboard dropkick for a near fall. Baszler punches her, but Shirai takes her down for a crossface. Shirai struggles to lock her hands with the injured arm. Baszler powers her up and slams her down. Shirai rolls to the apron. Baszler grabs the arm and yanks her up. Shirai stuns her with a shot and hits a springboard dropkick to knock her to the floor. Shirai goes to the top rope and hits a wild moonsault block to the floor!

Shirai gets her in the ring and hits a missile dropkick. Shirai hits double knees in the corner and goes back to the top rope, but Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir comes down. Candice LeRae comes up from behind and destroys a kendo stick on them. LeRae then takes them down with a cross-body. In the ring, Baszler catches Shirai with an inside cradle for a two count. Baszler goes for a Kirifuda Clutch, but Shirai gets out. Shirai takes her down and goes for a moonsault, but Baszler soon applies the Kirifuda Clutch! Shirai desperately tries to get to the bottom rope, but Baszler tries to stop her. Shirai has a burst of energy, but she still can’t get to the bottom rope. Shirai’s eyes are rolling to the back of her head. She is eventually forced to tap out.

Winner by Submission and still NXT Women’s Champion: Shayna Baszler

Io Shirai quickly attacks Baszler with a kendo stick and wildly destroys her. Shirai connects with a moonsault off the top rope. Shirai goes back to the top rope and tells LeRae to give her a chair. Shirai then gives Baszler a moonsault with the chair on her chest! Wow! Shirai walks to the back with LeRae while the crowd chants, “You deserve it” at Baszler.

Adam Cole vs. Johnny Gargano (c)

The crowd is buzzing for this match as the bell rings. A loud “NXT” chant fires up. They lock up, and Gargano backs him into the ropes. Gargano shoulder blocks him down and goes for the Gargano Escape. Cole gets out, shoulder blocks him down, and goes for a Last Shot, but Gargano gets out. They stare at each other. Cole quickly slides out of the ring to regroup. Cole takes his time before getting back in the ring. Gargano takes him down, ties up both arms, and yanks on the head. Cole gets out and viciously forearms Gargano in the corner. Cole sends him to the corner, but Gargano slingshots over him and hits a hurricanrana. Cole quickly gets out of the ring and avoids a plancha. Gargano goes outside, avoids a kick, and hits a summersault senton off the apron. Gargano gets him in the ring, but Cole gets out. Cole goes for an enzuigiri, but Gargano comes back with a double stomp to the arm draped on the apron! Gargano gets him in the ring and works on the arm, but Cole eventually gets out and superkicks the calf.

Gargano knees out of a suplex and goes for a slingshot, but Cole catches him. Gargano blocks a strike, but Cole quickly levels him with an enzuigiri. Cole gets him in a torture rack and hits an inverted face-buster to the knee for a near fall! Cole leaps over Gargano, and they trade superkicks. Cole drops him to a knee with a superkick and comes off the second rope, but Gargano superkicks him! They’re both out of the ring. They both meet each other at ringside and take each other down with dual superkicks. The referee nearly counts them out, but Cole gets in the ring. Gargano then hits him with a slingshot DDT for a near fall!

The crowd is loudly chanting, “NXT”. Cole shouts at the referee and rolls out of the ring. Cole grabs a steel chair, but the referee reminds him that he can be disqualified. Gargano goes for a suicide dive, but Cole pulls the referee into the path. The referee is down. Gargano avoids a chair shot and superkicks the chair into Cole’s face. Gargano gets him in the ring and covers, but the referee is still down at ringside. Gargano limps outside and puts the referee in the ring. Cole waves toward the entrance. Gargano prepares for interference, but no one comes out. Gargano goes to get in the ring, but Cole catches him with a Panama Sunrise for a near fall! Cole sets him up for a Last Shot, but Gargano just falls face-first onto the mat before he hits it. Gargano is completely out. Cole goes to lift him up, but Gargano surprises him with the Gargano Escape! Cole tries to get to the bottom rope, but Gargano rolls him back to the center of the ring. Cole quickly attacks the injured knee of Gargano. Cole kicks the knee and goes for a Panama Sunrise. Gargano counters into a roll-up for a near fall! Cole quickly jumps off the second rope and hits a Panama Sunrise! Cole follows up with a Last Shot for the win!

Winner and new NXT Champion: Adam Cole

The Undisputed ERA runs down and lifts Adam Cole up on their shoulders. Cole holds the NXT Championship up and kisses the belt. Bobby Fish’s arm is in a sling. Cole holds the title up as the show comes to an end.
