WWE Intercontinental champion Rey Mysterio + Chris Jericho + Mickey Rourke (front row): Rey Mysterio spoke some spanish for the Los Angeles fans. Rey said he would bash Chris Jericho’s head in a No Holds Barred match at Extreme Rules. Rey said a lot of people think it will be dangerous, but he think’s it will be off the hook. Rey said he will do anything he can to shut Jericho up once and for all. Jericho interrupted and asked if it would be “off the hook” when he beats Rey’s head with a chair and gives him brain damage? Jerischo said Rey has no idea what he’s getting himself into. Rey told Jericho to shut up and said his words don’t mean anything. Rey said Jericho gave his word that he (Rey) couldn’t hit the 619 and he did. Rey said Jericho gave his word that he would take the Intercontinental title and he didn’t. Rey added insult to injury by reminding Jericho that he gave his word that he’d beat Mickey Rourke at WrestleMania 25, and Rourke knocked him out! Rourke was shown sitting in the front row laughing at Jericho. Rey said Jericho’s word is worthless. Jericho said he Rey wants to pander to Mickey Rourke, he will do the opposite. Jericho said he was too much of a professional so he won’t go up to Rourke and punch him in the face! Jericho asked Rey why he wears a mask, and said only people with dirty little secrets wear masks. Jericho said he wanted to know what Rey was hiding, and vowed to tear the mask off Rey’s face and expose him for who he is.. Jericho said the mask was going to be Rey’s downfall. Jericho tried to sucker-punch Mysterio, but he ducked and after a brief tussle, Jericho escaped the ring…

BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW
Josh Mathews & John Morrison: John Morrison talked about his match with UMAGA tonight, saying UMAGA was a moron. Morrison said he would outthink Umaga and strategize. Shelton Benjamin showed up and said if Morrison survives they still have unfinished business in the real world. Morrison said he has beaten Shelton twice in the real world.

Jeff Hardy: Jeff Hardy said some people think he is crazy for picking such a dangerous and career threatening match, but the ladder match is his comfort zone. Hardy talked about starting his feud with Edge 10 years ago in a tag team ladder match. Hardy said his feud will end at Extreme Rules in a Ladder match. Hardy said he will become World Heavyweight champion. Jim Ross stated that Hardy seemed “a little bit disconnected tonight.”
SINGLES MATCH
John Morrison defeated UMAGA by DQ: UMAGA came out with a leather strap in his hands as he is preparing for a Samoan Strap match with C.M. Punk at Extreme Rules. After a great match, Morrison knocked Umaga out of the ring with a Chump-kick. Umaga grabbed his leather strap and strated whipping Morrison causing the disqualification. Umaga continued to whip Morrison in the ring and tied him up in the tree-of-woe in the corner. Umaga punched Morrison until C.M. Punk ran down and whacked Umaga with the MITB briefcase! Punk hit a running knee and then planted Umaga with a running bulldog on top of the briefcase..

Todd Grisham & C.M. Punk: Todd Grisham asked C.M. Punk what his strategy was going to be at Extreme Rules. Punk said he wouldn’t even know where to start when planning for a Samoan Strap match. Punk said nobody thought he could win the Money in the Bank, but he did it – twice! Punk said people now say he cannot beat Umaga in a Strap match. Punk said Umaga is big and strong, but there is one thing he is NOT.. he is NOT C.M. Punk!

Eve Torres defeated Layla El: Eve Torres was a cheerleader for the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, while Layla used to be a cheerleader for the Miami Heat. Eve beat Layla AGAIN! Layla tried to sneak attack Eve after the match, but she dodged it and Layla was sent flying out of the ring!

Edge & Chris Jericho: Edge told Chris Jericho to follow his lead tonight. Jericho said that didn’t work out so well last week. Edge said he was World champ so Jericho should listen to what he has to say. Jericho said he doesn’t listen to anybody, and maybe Edge should have his match today.

World Heavyweight champion EDGE: Edge said Jeff Hardy showed his stupidity by picking a Ladder match at Extreme Rules. Edge said he and Hardy have been in more Ladder matches than anybody else. Edge said Hardy always impresses and makes the highlight reel, but he (Edge) always WINS. Edge said previous Ladder matches were tag teams of money in the banks, but this is the first one-on-one Ladder match between he and Hardy. Edge said he would leave Extreme Rules STILL the World Heavyweight champion..

Edge & Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio & Jeff Hardy: Chris Jericho was true to his word, and left Edge by himself to face Rey Mysterio & Jeff Hardy.. Rey Mysterio made his entrance and greeted any fan wearing one of his masks. Suddenly, one of the fans grabbed Mysterio and rammed his head into the safety barrier! The fan jumped the rail and ripped off his mask, revealing Chris Jericho!!! Jericho bashed Mysterio some more, before Jeff Hardy ran down and chased him away! Jeff Hardy agreed to take on Jericho & Edge in a 1-on-2 Handicap match..
HANDICAP MATCH
Edge & Chris Jericho defeated Jeff Hardy: Jeff Hardy lasted quite some time, but couldn’t survive two superstar opponents. Edge speared Hardy to WIN the match… Afterwards, Edge found a Ladder under the ring and brought it into the ring. Edge rammed Hardy right in the face with the top of the Ladder! Edge sandwiched Hardy in the Ladder and put his foot on top, raising his arms in the air to celebrate!
