I was watching RAW and Smackdown this week and…
Nobody asked me, but…
… Have you noticed that, suddenly, everything on RAW us about surviving and that all the top wrestlers are notable survivors? I guess you can’t start the hype for Survivor Series too early. It’s kind of like the way Christmas advertising is creeping up toward Labor Day.
… Do you think we’re going to have to watch that count-down meter for the next 57 weeks? Perhaps Santino should try to simply avoid actually wrestling for those 58 weeks. His mic work is fantastic, but he doesn’t light it up in the ring.
… Wasn’t it good of HBK to put over Lance Cade in his interview with Todd Grisham?. Cade couldn’t be more on ground zero for some future losses if he wore the red shirt from Star Trek, but he will come out of his participation in the program with a much better image.
… Why isn’t Charlie Haas a face? He’s sort of a tweener, tending toward heel, and that’s all wrong for his gimmick. Since he is playing toward the fans, the imitations would get a much stronger response if the fans also rooted for him.
… Isn’t the battle of Internet video feeds between The Miz * Morrison and Cryme Tyme a watershed? Even though they show excerpts, this is really taking place on the web. Some of it is pretty funny, worth a visit to WWE.com.
… Hasn’t Jaime Noble crafted an entertaining character? I don’t know about you, but it has certain made me root for him. I think every guy has had trouble impressing that special girl.
… Wasn’t the mask match premature? They dawdled a little on the set-up, but to go right for a mask removal seems hasty. Think how much more exciting the whole thing would be if Kane had put his mask back on a month or so ago. The Battle of the Masks could’ve been an extended program for two guys who could be very entertaining and yet don’t really figure as title contenders at the moment.
… Isn’t it a mistake to think about turning Randy Orton babyface?
… Wasn’t that quite a scene Chris Jericho and Lance Cade played just before this week’s main event? Even though Jericho had done the climb-the-ladder bit, the pantomime of all the havoc that the ladder could cause in the match rescued it from the sin of redundancy.
