IWC World Heavyweight Title Match:
Dennis Gregory defends against Abyss
IWC Promoter Norm Connors is furious with Dennis Gregory. After falling for Gregory’s plot to get the title back around his waist by hook or by crook, Connors admitted he made a mistake in trusting the IWC Champion. Now, Norm Connors has hired a monster to try and take out Gregory at Ellsworth Basebrawl 2007 on July 21st at Ellsworth Community Park. Not just any monster… the 6’8″, 350 lb. monster ABYSS! Gregory is no stranger to Abyss, as they met several times during the IWC vs. Unholy Alliance feud in 2006. In fact, Gregory fell to Abyss in their only singles match in March 2006 at The Road to Super Indy V. Connors remembered this when he was looking for people to put against Gregory coming up. But several questions have now arisen due to Gregory’s reformation of the Unholy Alliance. Where does Abyss stand in the reformation? In the last days of the Unholy Alliance in 2006, rumors ran rampant that Abyss was on the outs with the rest of the group, and pretty much disappeared from IWC. When he finally returned at Night of Legends 3 in Franklin, PA, he was a different Abyss, slapping hands and taking in the cheers of the fans. Will that be the Abyss we see in Ellsworth?

IWC Super Indy Title Baseball Bat Match:
“Fabulous” John McChesney defends against “Sweet N Sour” Larry Sweeney
The IWC Super Indy Title match has been signed for Ellsworth, as it will be a Baseball Bat Match! IWC hasn’t seen a Baseball Bat match since the blood feud between former Sexual Harassment partners Eric Xtasy, JT Rodgers, and “Balls Hot” Troy Lords. This time, the baseball bat match will be between IWC Super Indy Champion “Fabulous” John McChesney and former champion “Sweet N Sour” Larry Sweeney! Dennis Gregory jumped Sweeney on the floor at Summer Sizzler 4 and busted him open on the ring post. McChesney was obviously in on it, as he shook hands with Gregory and took advantage of the situation. McChesney worked the cut all the way through the match, opening it deeper and wider until eventually Sweeney wasn’t able to continue. McChesney finished him with a frog splash and won the title for a record fourth time. Now, Sweeney wants revenge, and he’ll get it in the form of a baseball bat in the middle of the ring! Both men will start on opposite sides of the ring with the bat in the middle. Then, when the bell rings, it will be a mad dash to reach the bat to use it on their opponent!

IWC Tag Team Title Match:
The Gambino Brothers defend against The Hollywood Balds
IWC’s Tag Team division has never been as deep as it is now. Several top teams are in contention for the Tag Team Titles, now held by The Gambino Brothers, Mickey & Marshall. The roster is so deep that at Summer Sizzler 4, there had to be a match to determine the contenders to the titles for Ellsworth Basebrawl 2007. The Hollywood Balds defeated Sexual Harassment in what can only be described as the most unique tag match ever in IWC. Later in the night, the Gambino Brothers defeated the tag team champions Michael “The Bomber” Facade & Johnny Gargano to win the titles. That puts an interesting spin on things, as all four men are members of the Family, as Jimmy DeMarco is a cousin to the Gambinos. After their win, the Balds hit the ring and told them to make sure they clean the belts up for them. The Gambinos took this as an insult, and they screamed “You’d be nothing without us!” Will the Family explode in Ellsworth?

HENTAI & Daizee Haze vs. “Sugarfoot” Alex Payne & Ernie Osirus
We announced late last week that ROH training school graduates “Sugarfoot” Alex Payne & Ernie Osirus were irate at HENTAI for embarrassing them in their IWC debut at Summer Sizzler 4. They have challenged HENTAI to go out and pick any partner he could. HENTAI made a call to an old friend of his: Delirious. Back when HENTAI and Delirious were breaking into the wrestling business, they were both at a wrestling camp in Florida for the legendary Dory Funk, Jr. During the camp, they struck up a friendship. Rumor has it, HENTAI was a big influence on the odd star from the Edge of Sanity. So when HENTAI called Delirious, he asked him to come in and be his tag partner on July 21st. Delirious was originally booked to compete in Ellsworth, but had to pull out due to a wrestling tour of Japan for the Dragon Gate promotion, as well as Ring of Honor’s events there this week. So instead, Delirious offered HENTAI another partner: Delirious’ “interpreter” and the one who accompanied him to the ring during each of his Super Indy Title defenses, Daizee Haze! This may seem like an odd pairing, but “The Haze” can hold her own in a ring. She was one of the first women to wrestle in an IWC ring, along with Sumie Sakai in a mixed tag match back in July 2005. She is a top star in the women’s division in Ring of Honor, and recently competed in a tournament to crown the first champion in SHIMMER Women Atheletes. HENTAI definitely has a worthy tag team partner as he takes on Payne & Osirus this Saturday night! Of course, this raises an odd question: Why didn’t HENTAI call anybody from the Unholy Alliance?

STERLING JAMES KEENAN & JON BOLEN vs. “THE SHOOTER” BRENT ALBRIGHT & SEBASTIAN DARK
Jon Bolen and Sterling James Keenan were adament in their request to get their hands on members of the Unholy Alliance. While SJK will get “The Shooter” Brent Albright on August 4th at No Excuses 3, he couldn’t quite wait that long. So they went to Norm Connors, and after the actions of Gregory’s Alliance, he gladly signed an IWC vs. Unholy Alliance match for Ellsworth. SJK and Bolen will be teaming up to take on Albright and Sebastian Dark! Although, a question has yet to be answered: Is Albright a member of the Alliance? Or is he just a hired hand, hired by Dennis Gregory to do his dirty work? Their alliance was revealed at Super Indy VI after they screwed Ricky Reyes out of the IWC Title, but it obviously goes further back. In April, SJK was taking on Albright in his last match on his Road to the Title when Albright laid out the referee. Gregory hit the ring with a chair, obviously intending to take out SJK. After encouraging Norm Connors, SJK got screwed out of his title shot, one Albright suplex later. All thanks to Dennis Gregory. Bolen returned one month later after Gregory’s plan unfolded, and has made Gregory and his new Alliance his target once again. It’s sure to be a war in Ellsworth!

“Balls Hot” Troy Lords vs. “Havana Pitbull” Ricky Reyes
April 15th, 2006, Troy Lords and Ricky Reyes wrestled in the semi-finals of the Super Indy V tournament. Lords came out on top in his rise to the finals. April 14th, 2006, at Throwdown / Stay Down, the IWC World Heavyweight Champion “Havana Pitbull” Ricky Reyes faced IWC Super Indy Champion “Balls Hot” Troy Lords. It would be the first time the IWC Champion and the Super Indy Champion wrestled one-on-one. Reyes came out on top, and one month later, both men lost their titles. July 7th, 2007, both men attempted to get their way back to the top of the card, with Reyes getting an IWC Title rematch against Dennis Gregory and Lords taking on Azrieal in a match with huge Super Indy implications. Unfortunately, both men came out on the losing end. Reyes, thanks to interference from John McChesney, and Lords thanks to an errant shot by Azrieal, sending the referee into the ropes while Lords was on top. July 21st, 2007, both men are struggling to regain their former glory. Both men need a win to keep them in the upper echelon of IWC. With a win over their opponent, they will surely be looked at for title contention, so it is must-win for Reyes and Lords!
