Former lady wrestler Princess Jasmine (Cynthia Peretti/Johnson) passed
away on Friday morning following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was
60. Peretti broke into the business in 1968 through Dick the Bruiser
after he noticed her watching the matches in Chicago. She relocated to
Indianapolis so she could train with Bruiser and he named her Princess
Jasmine. Most of her career was spent in the Midwest territory during
the 70s and 80s but she also worked matches for the AWA, NWA and WWWF as
well as overseas tours in Japan, the Caribbean, and various parts of
Africa. In fact, in a crazy story, during a 1979 tour of Africa she was
almost killed when a Nigerian Tribal Chief decided he was going to keep
her as his bride. She had to flee the country.

night looking at steroid use in pro sports following the 50-game
suspension of Los Angeles Dodgers’ star player Manny Ramirez. The Chris
Benoit killings were brought up and they aired footage of John Stossel
(who worked on the piece) being slapped by Dr. D. David Schultz in the
80s.

where she was wanting to kiss me. Everyone knows I do not go there.” The
story also noted she is unhappy with her mom’s relationship with
19-year-old Charlie Hill saying, “What people don’t know is that he’s a
bad influence on her. She’s not staying as healthy as she should be.
He’s 19, he can party his ass off. She’s 48.”
