AS I SEE IT – Another Failed Campaign
Pro Wrestling: Between the Sheets
Well, $100 million later. Two election campaigns. After all that, Linda McMahon is still not the United States Senator from Connecticut.
Republican nominee Linda McMahon was beaten handily by Democrat Chris Murphy in this past Tuesday Connecticut Senate election, which helped the Democratic Party maintain its majority in the US Senate, as President Barack Obama was reelected in one of the most expensive, dirty, vicious elections in United States history.
Tom Buchanan, who captured many of WWE’s most famous images as the company’s chief photographer from 1987 to 2001, posted a lengthy post on Facebook recently slamming Linda McMahon’s political aspirations.
Though Buchanan considers the former WWE CEO a pleasant woman, he feels she is highly unqualified for a seat in the United States Senate from Connecticut: “She has failed at just about every enterprise outside of the wrestling industry; she has hoarded vast profits for her own family while shutting out her workers; she has slashed the company workforce even while rolling in profits; and, in spite of a lifetime of opportunity she has failed to gain any direct relevant government experience that will translate to success in the United States Senate.”
Democratic U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy is taking Linda McMahon to task over her past ties to WWE as the Connecticut Senate hopeful released a new television advertisement Wednesday accusing the wrestling executive of laying off employees while her company hauled millions in tax credits.
