Maria talks to PWMania.com about CM Punk, ROH, NXT, and much more!
Former WWE Diva and first Lady of Ring of Honor, Maria Kanellis recently took some time to participate in an exclusive in-depth interview with PWMania.com. Maria spoke on a variety of subjects from her favorite wrestler growing up, the CM Punk and WWE situation, WWE & NXT’s Divas, her future and more. Here are some highlights from the interview:
Favorite Wrestler Growing Up: My favorite female wrestler was Lita. I think it’s incredible to know she’s getting inducted this year. She gave me a strong female role model. My mom was a great woman, but my dad was always the king of the castle, so to speak. Lita was a strong female and did what she pleased and I admired that.
WWE & NXT Divas: I think they have great female talents nowadays. AJ and Natalya are great wrestlers. Paige in NXT can hang with any of the guys there. So I don’t think WWE is lacking when it comes to women talents. I hope the girls get more and more time to get into the spotlight because of how good they are becoming. Continue reading
ROH Ringside – Issue #18
One of the many things that I was interested in seeing when I first got into Ring of Honor was the debut of Samoa Joe. I had heard and read about his twenty one month Title reign, and how he carried the company on his back during the pedophile scandal (look it up on the Internet, if you want more information on it, because I didn’t really know a lot about it, nor do I really care). Samoa Joe was brought in by Christopher Daniels to fight with Low Ki, in the Low Ki/R.O.H. – Prophecy feud. This brought up Samoa Joe’s first match with Low Ki himself.

The shirt looks great!
Ring Rust Radio had Ring of Honor and former TNA superstar JAY LETHAL on the show this week, and it was a great episode with plenty of exclusive content and insight into the star’s TNA and Ring of Honor career, CM Punk’s situation, a possible jump to the WWE, Ric Flair and so much more!

ROH Ringside – Issue #17
This issue is going to talk about a feud that happened a while back however lasted for a few shows. That feud was one of the first true ROH feuds I can remember, if you don’t count the Prophecy vs. ROH in general. It was very intense and you actually believe Homicide and Steve Corino hated each, when in their promos they let their emotions hang out, and with the in-ring psychology between the two. This is one of the reasons I like ROH I don’t know who writes the promos, and how matches are played out, but the wrestlers are very believable and they know their psychology, maybe better than the W.W.E.
ROH Ringside – Issue #16
It’s time once again for the greatest columnist in history…no wait, it’s just me. ROH Ringside is back for 2014.
Storylines. Few fans understand them, lots of fans hate them, and most fans want them. I don’t know what the hell I just said, but one of the things I read about on the Internet, is that the reason Ring of Honor, will not reach T.N.A. or W.W.E.’s level, is because it is too wrestling orientated and does not have many storylines.
Former TNA X Division and Tag Team Champion and current Ring of Honor star Homicide recently appeared on The Undisputed Wrestling Show and talked about what he would do to turn TNA Wrestling around:
When asked who should buy TNA: “Terry Funk, he’s that knowledge of the business, he’s been around the world, he knows everybody…Terry Funk pulls out art every time he wrestles.”
Ring of Honor star Michael Bennett joined Pro Wrestling Powerhouse Radio on November 26, 2013 to discuss his upcoming match at Ring of Honor “Final Battle 2013” with Kevin Steen.
Bennett gave us his candid thoughts on a variety of topics. Not only does he talk about the pro wrestling business, but also thoughts on some social issues in America.

Ring of Honor released the following information regarding their release of a two-disc DVD set of Alex Shelly:
ALEX SHELLEY: MADE IN DETROIT (2 DISC SET)
Talent On Loan From God….that is how Alex Shelley referred to himself the night Generation Next made its debut in Philadelphia and given the amazing wrestling abilities he has displayed throughout his career, it’s a nickname hard to discredit.
Even before he helped found the group, during his tag team and subsequent rivalry with Jimmy Jacobs, Alex Shelley demonstrated gifts few wrestlers possess and it only blossomed further under the GeNext banner. Battles with Jay Lethal, Doug Williams, and Bryan Danielson honed his technical prowess and prepared Alex for what would come next as he was exiled from the group he founded…
