????SABU’S WOUNDS, PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL, BARED IN “TIMELINE ECW”
It is said of businesses and marriages…if it survives five years it’ll go on forever. ECW, in its original “Extreme” incarnation, lasted seven, had a groundbreaking effect on the wrestling business, changed how the majors presented their product, and amassed a die-hard army of fans. . . . . Then it was was gone.
Well, sure it hung aorund for a bit as an appendage of the WWE goliath. But everything that made ECW a significant entry in pro wrestling history. was gone after seven years. And in their new DVD series, “Timeline: The History of ECW,” producers Kayfabe Commentaries seek to pore over all the details for those years. The series is a spin-off of the critically acclaimed “Timeline: The History of WWE” which KC is also actively producing.

Lisa “Ivory” Moretti
Breaks Five-Year Silence About WWE
There was a time long ago when female wrestlers were expected to be athletes, first and foremost. It was a time, Lisa Moretti recalls, when swimsuit models weren’t being bent into the form of a lady wrestler. And it was a time when Moretti, who portrayed “Ivory” on WWE tv, held a belt called the “Women’s Championship.” The word “Diva” was nowhere on the belt.

ALL-STAR COMEDIC TRIBUTE
TO JIM CORNETTE ON DVD
Jim Cornette has occasinally infuriated the wrestling world. Jim Cornette has also made that wrestling world roll with laughter. Jim Cornette is the perfect subject of a scathing, hilarious comedy roast.
The polarizing but lovable Cornette, whose “Ring Roasts III” dvd was released today, gained fame initially as a manager. But it’s his unbridled passion for the business that makes headlines occasionally, as Cornette has today become more of a shoot interview soundbyte king. See, we told you he’d make a good roast subject.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock on a wrestling-less planet, you know that October’s “Ring Roasts III” live event featured Jim Cornette as the guest of honor. And today, the DVD of the event has gone onsale at www.kayfabecommentaries.com.

THE EXPENDABLES
Directed by Sylvester Stallone
Product Description
They might be expendable, but they sure are durable: The Expendables is crammed with well-traveled action heroes, called to a summit meeting here to capture some of that good old ultraviolent ’80s-movie feel. Star-director Sylvester Stallone rides herd as the leader of this mercenary band, which includes Jason Statham, Jet Li, and Stallone’s old Rocky V nemesis Dolph Lundgren. Mickey Rourke, looking like a car wreck on Highway 61, plays the tattoo artist who communicates the gang’s assignments to Stallone; throw in Terry Crews and Ultimate Fighting champ Randy Couture, and you’ve got a badass crew indeed. The specifics here involve a Latin American island where US interests have mucked up the local politics beyond repair–but when Sly’s eye is caught by the feisty daughter (Giselle Itie) of the local military jefe, a simple job gets complicated. Adding to the B-movie flavor of the enterprise, we’ve got Eric Roberts and Steve Austin bouncing around as badder-than-the-bad guys, plus Bruce Willis popping in for a one-scene bit, and… well, perhaps another unbilled cameo. The violence doesn’t reach the frantic pace of Stallone’s last Rambo picture, but it builds to a pretty crazy crescendo in the final reels, during which each cast member gets to show his stuff. Although Stallone’s face looks younger than it did in the first Rocky movie, his line delivery is more sluggish than ever, and what lines! The dialogue is stuck in the ’80s, too. Although it’s pretty ham-handed throughout, The Expendables is likely critic-proof: the audience that wants to see this kind of body-slamming throwdown isn’t going to care about the niceties. Let the knife throwing begin. –Robert Horton
