The secret was that the fire that his brother had died in was actually set by the Undertaker, but he told police that Kane set the fire.

~~~He stalked to the ring and hit the stunned Cena with a choke slam. As he calls for the pyro, he unveils his new leather mask.
December 19, 2011 – RAW: Interrupted yet another confrontation between Mark Henry and John Cena.
~~~After a staredown with Mark Henry outside of the ring, Kane entered only to be sent back outside by John Cena.
~~~Kane took the upperhand and tossed Cena onto the announcer?s table and choked Cena while tearing his shirt off!
December 26, 2011 – RAW: Kane and Cena had a dialogue in which Kane urged John Cena to “embrace the hate” within him.
January 2, 2012 – RAW: Kane declared that John Cena will be forced to embrace the hate tonight.
~~~After he ditched a three-man tag team match and caused partners Swagger and Big Show a loss; Kane made his presence known.
~~~While Cena walked up the entrance ramp to meet him, Kane pulled a switcheroo and appeared up from under the ring. Oh No!
~~~Zack Ryder was dropped by a big boot via Kane. He then stymied a retaliation by Cena and attempted to pull Ryder into the hole.
~~~Being thwarted by Cena, Kane retreated into the hole and a pillar of fire erupted from which Kane came/left. January 2, 2012 – RAW: John Cena, Zack Ryder and The Big Show defeated Jack Swagger, Mark Henry and Kane (No Show).
January 9, 2012 – RAW: Kane began the show insulting the audience and stood on his soapbox pushing his “Embrace the Hate” campaign.
~~~ After a lot of jaw-jacking, John Cena interrupted him and brawled with him all the way up the ramp andinto the back.
~~~ Eventually, we see Cena laid out as we go to break. Kane spent most of the show lurking around and scaring Zack Ryder.
~~~This culminated during a match between Cena and Ziggler. Kane appeared and choke-slammed Ryder on a loading platform
~~~John Cena ran backstage to attack him and the show faded to black showing a passed out Cena via Kane glove smother.

~~~With a smile on his face, Cena lifted Kane on his shoulders for an AA through the announcer’s table – but Kane blocked it and ran!
February 6, 2012 – RAW: He cornered a frightened Eve backstage and expressed his that John Cena appears to be embracing the hate.
~~~Kane added that he was also scared, if John Cena doesn?t embrace the hate soon, something will happen to Eve.
February 12, 2012 – RAW: He locked Eve in a ambulance. Cena tussled with Kane in order to free Eve from the ambulance.
~~~Eventually, John Cena prevailed and rescued Eve to be rewarded by a kiss. Ryder looked on oh so pitifully.
~~~After a spat between Ryder and Cena; Kane appeared on the Titantron to berate Cena about the hate he is harboring.
~~~John Cena has come 180. Kane declared an embracing of the hate. However, Cena can’t beat Kane because he is made of hate!
~~~He appeared on the ramp to dump Zack Ryder over the side of it, injuring him further.
